  1. This was posted on Wild. https://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/mcy/6439311563.html Bike has 3 miles and owner in Michigan is asking $6995.
  2. I think my Sport rides and handles pretty good as is. I've considered upgrades. I like the handling better than my Bandit with a Progressive rear shock and Racetek Gold Valves and springs. My only issue with the Sport was high speed weave (above 85 mph) with the fat HB loaded bags. I've learned that lowering air pressure to 28-30 in the front tames it considerably with the downside of losing sharp handling in the twisties. OTOH, I am not going full sport riding in the twisties with the bike loaded
  3. why can't the original leather be redyed?
  4. The PHJB played at my college (back in '74). Very much Dixieland Jazz. They were so old that I would be surprised if they voted in the Carter election muchless Reagan's. Amazing chops those guys had. They just never lose it. I am glad the traditions still live on.
  5. OK, I should look for a fastener on back of the gearbox. I am pretty sure I pulled it out of there when I tried to reconnect it but I couldn't see the fastener or exactly where to look. It's OK for now but I'd like to secure it where it belongs. Thanks Doc.
  6. Well it just means that if you spill a little fuel when pulling the nozzle out filling the tank and when the tank cap breather vents that fuel and vapor will go straight onto the frame spine and probably between the cylinders and sit on the crankcases. Did someone say fire risk? The hoses are designed to route this onto the ground when the inevitable occurs. Ciao That was my thinking and that's why I have exiting behind the engine. My question, is there a specific place where it supposed to be fastened? I've got it wedged beside the engine and to the back towards the swingarm.
  7. Docc, Thanks but I am not taking the tank off again. I have two lines. One is the return and hooked up to the pressure regulator. I assume the other is is breather or vacuum and hooks to connect line that exits to the rear. The exit line is slashed cut. I don't know if the exit line breathes free or hooks to a fastener. Right now it's hanging and the bike is running OK.
  8. Docc, there are two lines on the right side attached to the tank. 1, the return line to the tank to regulator, (connected OK) 2. the 2nd line that was cut into a connect. The termination I am not sure (unfortunately is came loose). I just assumed it was a vent and dropped it behind the transmission. Bike runs OK.
  9. I just took the tank off to service the air filter and install the new gas hose. when I take the tank off on the right side there are two hoses. One goes into the fuel pressure regulator. The other hose goes to a connector to another hose that terminates somewhere behind engine and transmission . OK, when I was connecting the second hose back together, the terminating hose pulled loose. It was diagonally cut on the hidden end. Is this meant to hang loose behind the swingarm or does it hook into something? (I know my Bandit has an oil overflow.) Thanks PS- I checked the archives here and illustrated parts break out but couldn't locate this hose.
  10. I think seat looks cool with a little fade. Patina, the right kind.
  11. Docc, two things: First, I've been trying for someone, anyone, to give me a site for an LED replacement for my Guzzi(s). Whether an H4 or complete replacement headlight. Next, I've been able to purchase downloads of all the Dead & Co shows I've been to (Boulder in 2016, 2017 and Dallas 2017). I have even given CD copies away. http://livedead.co/?utm_medium=www&utm_source=deadandcompany.com And a "get well" to John Mayer that missed the last two shows on the tour to an appendectomy. . . . [docc/edit: gotcha covered on the LED lamp: check your pm.]
  12. Docc, that photo only works if someone could tell me how I can get an LED light in my Guzzi. And BTW- I've been listening to my Dead & Co download from the Dallas Show I wrote about. It's really good. "Wake of the Flood" .
  13. naw Scud.... just a gray pullover short sleeve and those canvas loafers that are little more than house shoes. Thankfully I was wearing jeans rather than shorts. I couldn't pass up riding it and knew I wouldn't have another opportunity. Secretly, I think they were all for anyone riding it and binning it. You crash it, you buy it. After I got back they were pretty nonplussed to make a deal.
  14. Last night's Dead & Co show was tremendous. Very tight. Jazzier than ever. Oteil was all over it with a bass solo and lead singing on "Fire on the Mountain". He and John did quite a bit of fusion. John was superb. Jeff had a great solo on the electric version of "Friend of the Devil". All the guys were singing and Bob was stomping stage with with John. I can't wait to get the recording. I think it will be the best yet. Opening was "Shakedown Street", jazzy with a hint of Motown. Bob dusted off Marty Robbins "El Paso" (after "Deep Ellum Blues") for all the Texans. Psychedelic "Dear Prudence". The closer was a driving "Casey Jones" and the guys were stomping. And the encore was a solemn "Knocking on Heaven's Door". This was the best Dead show I've attended. At least as good as Jerry's 40th birthday show.
  15. Just got into Dallas to see The Dead & Co. Dropped my stuff off at the motel and went to the local Ducati shop. Got to ride the new SS. Nice ride. They loaned me an Arai and off I go in loafers and polo shirt. Have to say, it's very nice bike. bet the show tonight will be a goody.
  16. if we're going back in time. I played the heck out of this vinyl. Former Yes guitarist Peter Banks band Flash.
  17. I've got the same little model of the V8 that Melissa was holding. I'm too lazy to post a photo of it but it was about $6 on ebay. I was looking for 1/12 scale model but it was way too much for the glue bomb that I'd make a such a mess.
  18. sometimes it's just easier to take the bike to the shop and pay the mechanic. It's good to support those guys too.
  19. Scud, Congrats on the Duc. As been said before the ST3 has the best reputation of the series.
