  1. Hello- I have reviewed several related posts on electrical issues but am left with this specific question: **What might cause the battery to drain when driving in hot weather at low speeds? Tach dies and bike begins to sputter when not driving at highway speed on hot days. Headlight remains on. Bike then fails to start. Charging it overnight cures all symptoms. Battery and regulators are approx 1.5 years old. Bike is Sport V11, has 60K miles, 1 owner. Thank you, Bob
  2. The other night riding home from work(rarely do I ride at night) I noticed my dash lights are all super bright. When I get home I touched the regulator noticed it was warm but not too hot, a couple days go by and while I'm strapping on my lid while the bike is idling cold I reach down and check the reg. It's way too hot for a bike that just started. Again a few more days go by and me not being the type who jumps right into something, I put my multimeter on the battery terminals and see at idle i'm getting 13.03 volts but at 4k rpm it jumps to over 17v! I am about to check into the easy stuff first but my fuses are all good. I do have the extra ground strap on my reg. and all my connections are full of vaseline and wrapped in tape. Initial reactions? Is my OEM Ducati part dead?
  3. Hi guys, so following on from my oil leak thread , bike starts and runs great but the last few times that I've started the bike the battery light stays on for maybe 5-10 seconds. I had the battery off the bike for a few weeks, put the bike back together and ran it in the garage to see to all was ok, next day started the bike light stays on for 5-10 seconds, rode a mile to gas station-light not on when idling or after gassing up, went for an hour's ride, no probs, measured 13.8v @3000rpm when home.went to work this morning battery light stays on again, rides slowly to gas station no light after setting off, lights and dash all ok-rode 15mls to work bike starts like normal runs fine, regulator cool to touch when home and measured 12.8v engine off when I got home, the light always used to go out as soon as the engine fires up i've only noticed this recently- I will check connections and earths etc, any help would be great! just a thought does the regulator body need to touch bare metal? should I scrape off the powder coat where its bolted to frame? thanks sorry if its a bit long winded!
