My bike(s)

  1. I really didn't want to ever have to post this thread here, but the truth is that I don't appreciate this bike the way others would. Since I inherited it, I've ridden less than 50 miles and I've held onto it for the sentimental value, but I feel like it's time to let it go to a home of someone who can fully appreciate it. It has 8,778 miles on the odometer. My dad cycled between 7 bikes and after he got sick, the one that was easiest to get out of the garage saw all the action. I took ownership in 2014 and rode it a handful of times while paying insurance on it the entire time. It's never been down and is exactly as was left to me. I'm trying to get my place ready to move and would like for it to end up in someone's hands sooner than later. Feel free to contact me with offers. I almost forgot, I believe there's another set of pipes in the crawl space but I haven't gotten there yet.
  2. I have a pair of porkchop brackets for a 2003 V11 Sport Naked, left side in very good condition, right side paint is peeling off, but otherwise no damage. $100 plus actual shipping for both.
  3. Purchased spring of 2019 as a little bit of a project, but working 6 days a week in the summer left little time for play. Overall it’s a fun machine with great sound track but probably isn’t best suited for city commutes and feels best on open road. Has a few things to sort on it still regarding tuning. Has a new (to the bike) fbf cross over as well as new mistral mufflers. It seems as though it’s running hot since this install and hiccups and stalls in traffic on deceleration at random. Not terribly uncommon from what I can gather. If there is little interest I’ll keep it and continue on with a ecu flash or tuning of some type with the hope I’ll get time to ride it as intended. Just putting it out there as I’m interested in a Griso in the future. 4. I have put my Scura up for sale. It is a "world" version and is not currently eligible for import into the U.S. 9,200Km. Asking $10,000 Cdn, Firm. Happy to work with Canadian or overseas buyers on shipping arrangements. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2002-Moto-Guzzi-V11-Sport-Scura/274142904639?hash=item3fd430c13f:g:DHUAAOSwdQhd9Ppy
  5. Hello, this is my first post so let me introduce myself. I live in Stratford upon Avon in the UK and I have recently bought a 2003 V11 sport. I am in the process of returning things to stock, and have found that the fuel line that connects both injectors seems to could the base of the airbox in any orientation I can imagine. Currently the hose is routed under the rear of the spine, through the same area where the clutch line terminates. I can't find a diagram or explanation of the fuel line routing anywhere, and I'm not even sure it could go anywhere else! Has anyone replaced there hoses? I have some 5/16 Gates MPI hose (3mm wall) but am struggling with routing. Thank you

  7. Hi I have recently brought a 2000 v11 rosso mandello from a good friend, to cut a long story short I brought the bike in bits to restore/ reassemble but it hadent had the gear box recall done . I tracked down a well known guzzi specialist who was willing to take on the job . I now have the bike reassembled (with the recall being done on the gearbox) but I can’t get it in to 4th gear with out tapping the gear leaver down slightly and then quickly pulling it up . (It is smooth in to 1st , 2nd and 3rd Abd once past 4th it’s smooth in to ,5th and 6th . I have taken the preselector plate off and can change the gears in the box in the correct order by moving the forks and can run the selector plate through all 6 gears and neutral smoothly . But when assembled it’s the same. Does any one have any advice or tips on what could be causing this ? Kind regards Tony
  8. Hi I am looking to see if I can get hold of a v11 6speed gearbox Any help is appreciated kindest regards Tony
  9. Hello Guys, The virus of the V11 is under my skin so I have another question. When I'm looking for parts for my V11 I saw that they are very expensive in some cases or not deliverable anymore. But secondhand is OK in most cases, so the question is from what kind of Guzzis have the same: - engine block, crankcase , cilinders and piston - camshaft, cilinderhead - gearbox - transmission. An exempel is the speedometer unit in the gearbox. What other Guzzi has the same. I know the list of replace units from other brands on this forum, but I could not find a Guzzi comparison Futhermore are there possibilities to mount a big bore or a 4 valve ? Especially from a other Guzzi model? On my V65 I mounted a 4 valve Lario-head and it's running much better. But I can't find 1-2-3 something here in the forum, so I think this is much more difficult . Thanks
  10. Looking for a V11 Sport timing cover (the one with the bosses), if anyone has one...
  11. So i've got a doozy We have here a 2001 Moto Guzzi V11 Sport (40 000klms) running on one cylinder. It originally melted its right side ignition coil and blew a fuse. Myself and the local mechanic thought we had diagnosed our V11 sport and so we've replaced the ignition coil, we ran the bike on both cylinders for about 5 mins at 1500rpm and FZZZZT (smoke emerges) so now we've melted another, our local mechanic has looked through the bike and believed it is now an earthing issue due to faulty wiring. The Idea was that Voltage was going into the Coil, and not enough was earthing, Thus overheating the Coil. He's contacted us just now and no faulty wiring can be found. The only thing i can think of is that our right side ignition coil is rubber mounted fairly loosely where as the other seems rigid, however i was under the impression that the black cable is the earthing cable and the red is the positive feeding the spark? Before we put the third one in we figured we'd ask the question before wasting more ignition coils here.
  12. Bike has 9200 miles, champagne color, is in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition, mostly original and stock, except. - has factory carbon fiber exhaust - MotoBits adjustable foot pegs (also have the stock pegs) - comes with a red painted alternator cover that matches the 'pork chops' and looks sharp Tires are Continental Contimotion, and still have plenty of life. Bike start, runs and handles great. Just replaced the battery with a new gel battery, flushed brakes and clutch system, and changed the oil (Agip full synthetic). Bike is located near Boulder, CO. I love this bike, but am Selling due to issues with comfort, and plan to get a V7 Guzzi. I can email photos (too large to upload) alanpratt02@gmail.com

  15. Update: Whilst I am looking to purchase a Coppa Italia for use in Long Beach California where my son lives I'd be DELIGHTED to find one in EUROPE or anywhere other than Australia where one is/was lurking....Can't imagine the shipping cost from there. Of course I know there's not many around and most are in the States. Shipping to UK or Long Beach won't be a problem. Please contact me on 00 44 1684 575576 or 00 44 07831 879444.

  18. Hi, Anyone have an idea if I can install V11 Sport engine into Daytona 1000? Anybody have done that before? Is the engine's mountings position the same? My old Daytona engine seems to be in dire needs of new parts - lots of them...been thinking might as well find an used engine. In the cafe racer building fever!
  19. Hello all, I have what I hope is a simple question: under acceleration, is the rear end rotating towards the front of the bike, compressing the reaction rod, or is it rotating towards the rear, stretching the reaction rod? My semi-familiarity with suspension engineering tells me that since shaft-driven bikes want to raise the rear of the body under acceleration, the pinion is trying to "climb" the ring gear, forcing the swing arm down while rotating the rear end housing forward, which would put the reaction rod into compression. If that is indeed the case, would the stretching (tensile) forces be marginal under braking as I suspect? I would greatly appreciate any and all input. Thanks. P.S. I'm sure most of you know that the drive shaft turns CCW, but I just want to add that.
  20. I'm selling the seat off my 1996 Sport 1100. I'm asking $250 but I'm accepting offers. I also put on here my fairing with headlight if you're also interested in that. Send me a message if you're interested and I'll send you some more photos. Thanks!
