I want to like this bike. I liked the last Quota if it weren't 575 freekin' pounds. Yet, this 'floating panel' design style doesn't sit well with my aerodynamic sense of "if it looks right, it is right."

 

Maybe in all black . . .

Marabese's designs aren't "doing it" for me anymore, either...

 

I wish they'd consider hiring a new designer to pen the bodywork on these new bikes...

Not really liking that in red and silver.

 

Maybe yes in all black or grey, with wheels like the first photo.

 

Initial photos of the Griso and Norge didn't compare to how much better the bikes look in person. Hopefully, that's the case with the Stelvio.

Well, either they've moved it to under the seat, or this red pre-production bike simply doesn't have its can yet installed on the left side, where all the prototypes have had thier's...

Cheers biesel for the new pics :thumbsup: Side and centre stands, cubby holes, wire wheels, new engine and hopefully a seat height for us short arses what is there not to like :wub:

The new Moto Guzzi Stelvio completes the range renovation programme that, in little over 24 months, has seen this legendary marque regain all its past splendour.

 

What was missing and what the public were impatiently waiting for now is now available in the form of a complete motorcycle. This is the Italian answer to the demand for a multi-purpose maxi-enduro machine that can adapt to all conditions and restore the pleasure of riding.

 

A machine with these characteristics could not have been a descendant of previous models but was created as part of a totally new project. Docile and powerful at low and medium revs, this twin-cylinder, single raised cam transverse unit is housed in a slender tubular frame that appears so fundamental as to make even specialists in off-roading look again. Riders will appreciate the absorption characteristics of the 50 mm upside-down forks and the traction offered by the combined action of the rear single swingarm and the progressive rear suspension system, not to mention the superb CA.R.C (reactive shaft drive) final drive. If the fact that the Stelvio is very much at its ease on deceptive surfaces with little adhesion is down to the superb frame design, its decreased weight and smooth power delivery; its vocation as a tourer is highlighted in the many little details that were specifically included to make daily use sheer pleasure. OK that does it, who wants my Sport? sure the green doesn't fit but I'm painting all the green black, I'll need the money to put down on this Stelvio, screw a HD, forget the GS, Me wantie Stelvio. If the price isn't through the roof I'll get one when it comes to the states in 3-5 years :lol: well at least the Aprilia will be paid off by then :P

I think I would like it better in Tenni green with some boxy panniers to give it a more rugged look.

 

Are there any critical specifications available: weight, fuel capacity, price?

This does look like a bike that would require very serious consideration....nice
