Methinks ye talke crazeee talke my goode fellowe.

Dig the hip lyrics I've been labouring on. Rockin innit?

1927.jpg

I'm gonna write a little letter,

gonna mail it to my forum Admin.

Yeah an' it's a jumpin' little audio file

I want my forum jockey to play.

Roll Over Bendy, I gotta hear V-twin Termignoni today.

You know, the relay temperature's risin'

The Moto Guzzi's blowin' a fuse.

My crank's beatin' rhythm

and my airbox keeps a-singin' the blues.

Roll Over Bendy and tell Admin Jaap the news.

I got the rockin' tappets,

I need a shot of air cooled rhythm and blues.

I caught the rollin' shafties

sittin' down at a 1200 Sport review.

Roll Over Bendy the valves 'r' rockin' in two by two.

Well, if you feelin' like it

go get your V.11, then reel and rock it.

Roll it over and move on up just

a trifle further and reel and rock with it,

roll it over,

Roll Over Bendy, dig these big torque rhythm and blues.

Well, early in the mornin' I'm a-givin' you a warnin'

don't you step on my Tenni suede shoes.

Hey diddle diddle, I am setting the gaps to universal spec, call it a fiddle,

ain't got nothin' to lose.

Roll Over Bendy and tell Admin Jaap the news.

You know she wiggles like a glow worm,

dance like a spinnin' top.

She got a crazy Marzocchi,

Ya oughta see it reel and rock.

Long as she got high octane, the revin' music wont never stop.

Roll Over Bendy,

Roll Over Bendy,

Roll Over Bendy,

Roll Over Bendy,

Roll Over Bendy, dig these big twin rhythm and blues.

EDIT

I thought I better add that this is, of course, Chuck Berry's Roll over Beethoven – in case you young-uns don't know it.

BFG,

If you composed this in less than 6 mos. you are a genius..

Tough luck, old bean.

It took him 6 months and a day, 10 stone of scones and a partridge in a pear tree.

Ever since GStallions put up 'Johnny B. Goode', I have 'You can't judge a book by it's cover' stuck in my head. (yes, I know it's Bo Diddley, but still...)

Good call on Nick Cave, Jihem.

Ever since JR put up Bo Diddley, the name Bod Iddley has been stuck in my head. What should I do?

Splitting hairs. Is Bo Diddly R&R or Blues ?

Good question...

He's one of these guys who made bridges between genres, and helped create rock n roll, but he was more a R&B person than a blues person, even if his roots are blues.

And his use of electricity and fx blurt even more the situation. So, I would say his hands are playing RnR while his feet are using R&B rythmic patterns.

On a (not too) side note, I have been drafted by a university/private co-funded business company as they want to make some kind of hush hush project about the history of music but the point is that i have been spending last week listening to Jimi Hendrix's albums (starting with only the official ones or the list never ends...)

Electric Ladyland is...far out man. I'm too young to have been tasting him first time around but what strikes me about Hendrix, besides his fingers obvious ability, is the harmonies he was using: he was decades ahead of his peers and he still is in a league of his own and a true, true genious.

Yesterday and today are/were The Stooges and Iggy Pop days :)

I can tell ya, The Idiot, beautifully produce by Bowie, is one of the best rock album ever. imho.

It's a dirty job but somebody's got to do it :)

Sorry, I can't take middle-class white boys playing blues-derived music seriously. So:

OK, one serious selection.

on a serious note, every sunday night here is STL, there is a community radio program called Chicken Shack that absolutely rocks the rhythm and blues.

KDHX.org

You can stream it to your computer wherever you are. Good (blues/R&B) streams are the weekday afternoon programs: Soul Selector, Blursday, Blues in the night, and Sunday's Chicken Shack.

you haven't really experienced it until heard through headphones on acid while skipping high school.

did you know he plays a right handed guitar left handed? If you ever get to Seattle be sure to visit the "Experience Music Project" near the space needle. It's also the Jimi Hendrix museum... There is a 2 story sculpture made of instruments that actually play music... it's far out man, Groovy!

I lived just a few blocks from Bob when I lived in Minneapolis. I saw him frequently. I did not know him, though. I regret that.

Greg, I went to art college with Mick Hucknall (Simply Red), & painted next to him -he practised (pretty good) harmonica impersonations at the same time as painting, & the studio often resounded to my "Shut the f*** up, Huck, I can't think!" -didn't know he'd make such a good living from it one day...

Anyway, I wouldn't put anything he's made in my top ...er... never mind... (yeh, sour grapes) ;)
