The Stucchi simply fills the hole in the midrange. http://manleycycle.com/Tech/more_mg.htm Those tests were done with Mistral or Agostini mufflers. The Mistral CROSSOVER apparently boosts the midrange even more, albeit at the expense of high rpm horsepower. The Maxtreme muffler apparently has even more horsepower and fills the hole, while using the stock crossover. see http://www.dawebcity.com/fotoalbums/index/...1256BF300725A32 I suspect other free flowing mufflers will equal the performance. The sound is greatly improved although I wouldnt mind a few more db Remove the end cap and drill as many holes as you can, in the face of inner plate....I think I used a 3/8 drill but it really shouldnt matter. I did this twice because I didnt get enough holes in it the first time around. Also, cut off the end of the tube that sticks out of the inner plate. I did a quicky job because I did it 1/2 hour before a ride...but you never see it anyway so ....who cares. I think 99% of the guys that do this will think the sound is just right. Janusz Posted August 12, 2002 Share Posted August 12, 2002 Jimjib, I think thay your set up is the most sensible one and that is what I am slowly doing. I have a Power Commander now and the map there is the stock one (that's what the Dynojet installed, M706-001.MAP). I am waiting now for my Stucci X-over and then I am gonna drill the muffler. What I want to ask you is this: do you still use a stock map on your Power Commander or did you modify it somewhat to allow for drilled muffler and Stucci X-over. Sound reminds me of my Ducati 907 with the Ferracci CF pipes. Plan on adding a K&N filter, Stucci x-over and possibly re-mapping. alfaguzzi Posted September 28, 2002 Share Posted September 28, 2002 I have just drilled my cans whit 10 mm x 17 in each and put on a KN airfilter and a remap at my dealer at the 10000 km (1600 milers) service.
