Steven
The other day i was riding my bike accelerating through the gears, and at the end of fifth gear i heard a grinding noise. I stopped to inspect the bike then took off again. I shifted to 2nd, nothing happened in third, and the same in fifth. Its like a neutral rev. Any ideas??? Bbennett
Does the gear shifter lever tension "feel normal"? Or does it feel loose / flaky? Cuz if it does not feel "right" I suspect you have broken your pawl spring - replacements avail from Cannon Racecraft Inc. Buy 2.
swinfurkon
I have experienced two gear box related problems on my 2002 Le Mans: 1. Pall spring - I managed to jag one gear, 5th I think and limp home 5km. it would not always engage, it took several attempts 2. a few weeks after the pall spring was replaced ($5 that cost $100 to fix ), I had trouble selecting gears again. I thought it was pall spring again, but it turned out the gear linkage jammed and needed to be tweaked out the bind and some lubricant sprayed on the joints. I have been told joint lubing is required regularly so I do it and no problems again. I hope this helps.
