Pronto Posted September 22, 2013 Share Posted September 22, 2013 Got the first real technical problem in 13 years...the gearbox lever quit the job...fortunately the machine is strong enough to stand for riding 150 kilometers through citiets etc. starting from traffic lights withs 5th gear...seems that there is a little problem of some kind of spring force...also a bit of disturbing sound wih 4th gear has happened. docc Posted September 23, 2013 Share Posted September 23, 2013 Pronto, It is worth checking your foot shift lever to see if it is moving freely and not binding on its pivot. Otherwise, this sounds like a broken shift return spring. Many posts on "Technical Topics", "Frequently Asked Questions", and "How To . . ." sub-forums. I think you need a new shift return spring.. I carry spare one with me, so far didn't need to use it. the 2002 models are known for the weak spring.
