Ephrata to Shamokin to Fort Indiantown Gap (North East of Harrisburg).

Here is the route we plan to take from Ephrata to Shamokin (approx 1 hr 45 min):

We'll stop at the Turkey Hill store in Shamokin for b-room, fuel, drinks, snacks, etc.

125 is such a great road, that after that stop, I'd like to go back down it to Joliet, then take US209 W. through Tower City, and either take Gold Mine Rd. back down toward Harrisburg, or continue on US209 to Lyken, then S. on Glenn Park Rd. (nice and twisty) to Powels Valley Rd. to Hallifax. There is a Sheetz store in Halifax if anyone needs fuel, etc. From there, PA225 over Peter's Mountain back toward Harrisburg. There is a nice overlook at the top of Peter's Mountain if anyone wants a good photo-op.

Shamokin to Fort Indiantown Gap via. Halifax (2 hours)

Or, if people want a shorter route, this one is 45min shorter, still includes 125, and then Gold Mine Rd. back to Fort Indiantown Gap.

Shamokin to Fort Indiantown Gap via. 125 + 209 + Gold Mine Rd. (1 hr 15 min)

By the time we get to Fort Indiantown Gap, it'll be getting late enough that we'll probably disperse from there.

It is very windy here this morning so we decided that we'd postpone the ride to next Sunday, November 9th. To tolerate the colder weather is one thing but riding in high winds just sucks.

Hopefully we'll get some better weather next weekend. As of right now the Weather Channel 10 day forecast is showing mid-50's on the 9th.

Obviously the Ephrata Breakfast Ride was this weekend so we'll post a new meeting spot in the next day or two.

I see that guzziboy66 — who, while a member here, hasn’t been around in four years — posted an interesting spring ride option on the Griso Ghetto forum.

It’s the 22nd Annual Gathering of the Nortons at Washington Crossing Historic Park, Washington Crossing, Bucks County, Pennsylvania on 19 April.

Yes, it’s a Brit bike gathering, but “all brands,” etc., too.  Sounds interesting.

For more, see http://www.grisoghetto.com/t1063-howdy-from-bucks-county-paand the flyer, http://www.dvnr.org/gathering/2015_22nd_flyer.pdf.

I hope to attend that one, but it’s a bit out of range for a day ride.  If you are planning anything closer sooner, let us s'utherners know.  I can do an overnighter sans my favorite pillion, but she hides sound-activated recorders and cams when I venture out longer than that.
