Yankee propaganda.....

Lordy, so the "South Central Pennsylvania" in your bio is more "south" than "central" or "Pennsylvania?"   :P

I am an unabashed fan of WTS.   :notworthy:

Even played that tune for him on a CD at his grave once.  Figured that while he got sick of hearing it at GAR meetings after The War, he wouldn't mind it after all these years.

P.S. Down in the Moto Grappa unpacking the Norge from this last trip and getting her ready for a two-up romp to the national rally in N.H.  She's a filthy beast after several days in the rain.

Actually, the photo archives of the earliest (2003) Spine Raid are lost to Forum Reconstruction.

Bill, you aren't holding some pictorial evidence of that first foray to the Athens Super8?

(We started out staying at some really classy places . . .

Looking.

As the statute of limitations has run, I am less wary of getting those out there.

OK, it seems that the oldest one I could (quickly) find was the 2006 edition, which was in Sweetwater at the Best Western.

Shutterfly took over Kodak's on-line photo-storage and managed to muck up the order of things, but, for such amusement it may afford you, is that edition:

The pix of me remind me of those milk-carton "age-adjusted" photos of missing children from decades ago.  In my case, the ones in this slideshow need to be ... erm ... "enhanced" by a few pounds so you know who I am.

I may be in the Keystone State now but I hail from the Old Dominion.

WTS!?!  I'm more of James Ewell Brown guy myself.

If your guy and his bubbas had been mounted on Guzzis, they might have gotten back from their gallivanting wanderings vic. Carlisle in time to give Mister Lee some useful info ... and changed history.  ;)

  • 2 weeks later...

I know when Fergal posts his Irish gathering it's time to get serious about the Spine Raid.

. . . . or "Baffi e Chiacchieroni" if that strikes you as more astute. ;)

Well, under the circumstances, while it may perhaps be a wee bit too early to sound Stivale e selle ...

http://www.secondcavalry.org/2US_9VA/Bugle%20Calls/bootsddl.wav...

... it is good and right, at least, to sound Prima Trombahttp://www.secondcavalry.org/2US_9VA/Bugle%20Calls/assmbugl.wav...

... and even Stabile Tromba, http://www.secondcavalry.org/2US_9VA/Bugle%20Calls/stblcall.wav-- for those whose mounts "need work."

Then, Il mio buon comandante dello squadrone, we will look to you on that day appointed day in September to nod at the bugler to play ...

Delightful! Although, I sometimes feel that I dwell too oft at the Stable Call . . . :luigi:

Just as I see JRD casting about for some H-B bag mounts so that he can descend upon the Spine Raid in style!

Il vostro buon comandante squadrone ;)

Mio caro colonnello,

Thought you might like that.

We do need to be careful about the MP's after taps.

Interesting, too, re the search for H-B mounts.

I tried to reply to that post but could not.

Please tell the fellow -- well, if he passes your muster, anyway -- that I happen to have said brackets, tho will not aver that every single piece and fastener is there (tho I think 90+% are).

$500?  Are you shixing me?  Shipping plus a "better" 750ml bourbon or near-exquiste cab delivered (with appropriate care) at Tellico will meet my price.  If JRD's from Tennessee as are you, I can translate that for him.

JRD is in the Tampa Bay area of Florida.

I'll pm him to pm you.

Thanks, but prefer e/m: wrhagan earthlink.net.
