If i'm not mistaking we've never had a music thread on this forum!

It would be nice to know the V11 rider's music taste. I'll start off. As yo may have noticed my avatar is the Star Man from the early Rush albums.

I discovered Rush in the mid eighties and they never disappointed me.

I like the older Rush, but had not heard the song you posted - nice one!

Here is Numb, by Gary Clark, Jr. - a recent favorite of mine.

BTW - How do you embed the play window?

edited after I figured out how to embed.

I love this idea! I've been thinking about this since it came up on Scud's thread.  (Rush's drummer, Neil Peart. is a motorcyclist of note!)

But, yes, how do you embed the play window?

I'm a huge Rush fan. A few years ago, I saw The Joy Formidable open for The Silversun Pickups, and I was hooked. Been listening to this for a while now, and the girl on guitar rocks!

But, yes, how do you embed the play window?

Here's how:

Find your clip on YouTube, right click and select "get embed code." Then copy the code from the pop-up window.

Return to this site, and in your post, do the following:

  1. Write whatever you want first.
  2. Then click the Special BBCode icon (left of the font selection box)
  3. Choose Media from the drop-down list
  4. Paste the embed code in the URL box and click OK
  5. Check the "Enable HTML" box on your post - notice that it appears to turn into a whole bunch of random letters and symbols
  6. Then click Post

Delete & Repeat as necessary till it actually works... the first one took me a while.

It suffices to just copy/paste the URL (http://www.etceter.com/etcetera) in the message and the clip is embedded automagically. Make sure the Enable HTML option is checked.

Those are all great cuts! "Girl on guitar" makes me think of this performance with Jeff Beck and bassist, Tal Wilkenfeld, (comic introduction by Bill Murray at the 2007 Crossroads Guitar Festival):

I could ride my Sport a million miles with this in my head!

awesome.

Funny thing....two folks I've seen live are J Beck (on several occasions) and Bill Murray (attended Letterman show last Oct).

I want to see Jeff (+ZZ Top) again in May at Thackerville Casino but it's already sold out.  Guzzi John from Springfiel Mz wants to go to.....no tickets.

here's another Beck vid

Jaap-  I saw Rush a few years ago.  My younger brother is a huge fan.  Anyway, quite a show, Getty's "amplifiers and speakers" weren't amps at all, they were working chicken rotisseries.  I've seen vids where he had washers cleaning Tshirts as well.

Nice.

1st two Dire straits albums

Knopflers current stuff

Rush early stuff, went to the Moving Pictures tour and loved it! Pearts book was informative but depressing, had to take it in doses between knocks of Dan Walsh

J. Hendrix

B. Dylan

JJ Cale - every time i hear it and i have been hearing it for a long time

N. Young- read this book (the first one)

Pink Floyd- specifically "Wish You Were Here" album, thats got the guitar and keyboards to match those moments when your motorcycle no longer has any weight and you no longer require eye protection......

Max Roach- best drummer, saw him play accompanied by a cello and 2 violins while on a 3 piece kit. Mind altering music.

Herb Alpert- master of fun

Thanks for Rory Gallagher that was good.
