docc
Leaves are falling, temperatures are dropping, and it won't be long before we begin longing for the Fourteenth South'n Spine Raid. If you're looking for an invitation to a non-event that doesn't technically exist, here it is: Weekend after Labor Day, Tellico Plains Get there. Bring tools. Early TechSession suggestion is that Scud is going to come take apart four V11 and make three good ones out of the parts. They'll be fabulous machines, lots of dark parts, but somebody is walking home . . .

docc
I figure it this way: no one seems to have any photographic evidence of The Inaugural South'n Spine Raid (four of us in 2004). Then, nobody-but-nobody met for the "second", so next year (2017) is SSR#1 + fart'een. Goozee-math! Otherwise, be sure to keep your Ravelli aqilla facing forward, and change your oil religiously (like with incense or incantations). Not that we are superstitious sorts. Nope-nope, not we Italian motorbike sorts. Not us, nope. Knock on wood. nudge-nudge, wink-wink ; / Know what I mean- know what I mean?

docc
Or as Dr. Mark Barnes, who writes for Motorcycle Consumer News, has said (and I paraphrase), "[it's not so much superstition as] the palliative resolution of cognitive dissonance." It's New Year's Eve, weather in the northern hemisphere is "turning off" and we are not far from new "meetings" threads: The Far'teenth South'n Spine Raid and The Inaugural Akaroa Spine Raid Stay tuned, and keep your eagles into the wind! Happy New Year!

We'll leave it up to our NZ bro's to find the perfect time of year for a SpineRaid there! I'm just sayin' there ought to be a *SpineRaid* in "your" neighborhood, where-ever you are!
