Airbox sensor?

The copper. And the idea to use it to absorb heat in an approximation of what the throttle body experiences at a stop.

Just a quick up date. The set up has proven successful over some 1000 miles now I guess. One further mod. I have used a clutch side handlebar grip on the inlet end of the copper tube to protect the tank. Other than that, it would seem, "jobs a gooden".

The sensor is below the filter to the forward right side.

What is its' purpose? I am guessing inlet air temp?

bit slow seeing the thread... hey look thos for and against have good reasons for there choice.

Ok, its not a good idea to remove the air box its design is the best thing for the engine.. however if you spend the time there is a chance you can get the bike running beter than it ever has.

With the help from Marty my bike runs incredibly beter than it did out of the create, and I rode it for 65000k befor doing the mods, this includes remapping and re positing the air temp censor a must to keep... now a reason it all worked so well is due to like kiwi roy did the factory velocity stacks.

see my photos in the link Marty posted on pg1

good luck and expect to be troubled by it till ya get it right
