RAM clutch?

Hello all! Long long time no chat, I hope everyone and their Guzzi are well!

So I stumbled on this the other day while surfing the 'tubes:  https://hmb-guzzi.de/RAM-single-disc-clutch

I've been kicking myself for not getting a RAM clutch for my bike years ago, was wondering if this one would work in my 2001 V11 Sport Naked. Credit card is burning a hole in my pocket...

Thanks for any insights! Cheers :bier:

It will but the gearbox input drive spline won't fit the 6 speed gearbox and the clutch pushrod MAY need to be modified. You can still buy the 6 speed input drive spline separately.

Thanks for the reply... Not sure I fully understand which part you mean by input drive spline. Is this an OEM part? Wouldn't I be able to use the input drive spline already in my bike? If not, is it an aftermarket part of some sort? Grazie!

The kit comes with the gearbox input spline for the 5 speed box which won't fit your 6 speeder but you can use your original one if its not badly worn. Seems a shame though to fit a whole new clutch and flywheel and use an already worn gearbox input drive.

Ok so it's an OEM part then. Still trying to decipher which one you mean. I found this on MG Cycle, is this it? Harpers also has it for a little less but this page has a photo:

That's the last piece of the puzzle, but should be the least difficult part to sort out... *famous last words*

From my dodgy memory the clutch pushrod needs to be machined down slightly on the OD at the pressure plate end to fit the ram pressure plate actuating button unless you can source a std single disk pushrod.

Ill find out soon as I'll be fitting a 6 speed box behind my Daytona engine with a RAM clutch.

whatever, it's not a big deal to  sort out.

Most clutch pushrods have hardened ends so when shortening it's prudent to re-harden the end.

Looking at part numbers, it appears that the clutch pushrod for single disc and double disc bikes is the same: GU01085730

I'm looking at the parts fiches for my bike (2001 V11 Sport Naked - double disc) and comparing to the MGS-01 Corsa which is single disc. They both use the same pushrod...

V11 Sport Naked parts:

MGS-01 parts:

The 2002 Scura and Tenni, both single disc clutch, also appear to use the same pushrod

There are a couple pages of discussion on this, with images as I recall, in my Sticking Clutch thread. I’ll try and track it down this evening.
