Tank bag

To strap onto the plastic Sport tank. I did search through the archives, & got some clues, but, I think the hot set up is to just ask.....Is anyone using a strap-on 18-20 litre (large) tank bag ? Ideally it would be the style w/a "bra" that stays attached to the tank w/the bag zipping on & off as needed. I 'm a troglodyte (use paper maps) & so would like a clear plastic map case atop the bag. The local bike shop has a magnetic mount Nelson-rigg in stock that I set atop my tank & it looked pretty good. It is available in a strap-on version, but I don't think it is the "tank bra" style (hard to tell from a catalog picture). The bag is 18" long, and how well it would work depends on exactly where the front mount would locate. If it fit into the bolt slot in the front of the tank the 18" would be a tad long for my spare tire. Yea, I know, a fat old men shouldn't be riding a Sport....but my mind is still writing checks & pushing my body to cash them.

Thanks,

Ron

I was looking at a bag that attaches to the fuel cap area. It might put the bag too far to the rear. A standard Triumph fuel cap mount will work.

Precisely what I was thinking. Givi is good stuff, but you pay for it. Sadly Givi offers nothing in their current lineup for the "ancient" V11.

However, I'll bet a call or email would net something usable.

No need to call them. All the research was done for you.

Well, let's hope it is still available, since the thread is from 2011-2012.

Considering they still make Triumphs I think it’ll be fine.

I bought a few tank bags for my '00 Sport with the chin pad, including the stupid ring system that SW Motech uses.

Lame.

Ended up with a Cortech 2.0 low profile that straps on and looks good too.

I like the looks of the Cortech unit, I just placed an order for the Super 2.0 18L strap mount. It was exactly the same $119.99 from Revzilla, Amazon, & Motosport.

Thanks for the replies,
