WTB: ‘01 V11 Passenger Footpeg / Muffler Bracket, Left Side

Recommended Posts

I am looking for the left side bracket that goes from the seat area to the muffler and holds the passenger foot peg for a 2001 V11 Sport. Silver, not bent, and in good condition. Please let me know if you have one to spare.

Thanks!

You might do a search on the forum/internet.  IIRC there a couple of sites perhaps in Europe/Germany that have a few bikes being salvaged for parts.  Sorry they don't come to mind.

Thank you. The only thing that I’ve found on-line  is Harpers but they list them as black. I could do a black one and have both left and right painted red, that might look cool. I’ll do a another search and see if I can come up with the Euro salvage or anything else.

I just scrolled 35 pages of ebayUS for ya, buddy. I think ya owe me a beer, already. Maybe Dramamine  . . .

Found a right side on page 19 that kept me goin' for a while longer. That's a seller in Florida with an 8700 mile 2001 Sport apart. I got a nice set of throttle bodies from them, but had to send the sketchy reardrive back. Professional outfit, though, and I found this after clicking on the right side listing:

If you have no luck I can get a set from a rosso mandello (black with footpegs) from here in Japan. I have no idea of the quality but look good in the pictures.

The paint could be faded and chipped though  and rubber is how you would expect for the age Cost about 150 US dollars plus shipping. No idea how much shipping is.

Look in better shape than the ebay one

Hi footloose,

thank you for asking and sorry for the late response. I’ve been wrapped up with holiday/end of the year stuff and haven’t been here much lately. Thanks for the leads, but I’m thinking to wait until I can attend to doing some upgrades on the bike and then pull the exhaust system off and have a more detailed look at everything. The mechanic who did an overall inspection on the bike told me that they were bent,  but after studying images it looks like left and right brackets are asymmetrical, and also the tabs on the subframe that they bolt to do not look completely straight, but I really need to remove the rear body work and the exhaust to be more clear on what’s going on. As is, it’s not really a problem other than something being bent and not perfect. Thanks!

Yes, get her straightened up plumb so you can gain a good view of everything. There is a lot going on here. The right side hanger/muffler is meant to be out further, but does not need to be out 'that' far. The sub frame anchor points may be/and can be, bent some (take care). The mufflers mount point could be hanging/or hung on either side of the bracket, and washers may be/could be used here. The mufflers can be 'turned' slightly, on the crossover to achieve height variation. All these points can be used to get them more symmetrical. The PO of my 2000 messed with it till perfection, using a combo of these things. Forgot to ask... stock mufflers? Aftermarket cans with a separate mid-pipe have even more room to play.

The main hanger bracket is cast and might break if you try to bend it, though it may be bent already.

Just an update, fwiw: I just acquired a pair of very clean hangers in a lovely black powder coat. Thank you very much, Bill. Now I’ve got something to compare the suspicious perhaps bent ones on my bike to, and at least the option of adding a new look. The price was very reasonable, so what the heck. Thanks everyone for your help on this. Cheers!
