Have enjoyed Turns 15/16 the last couple of years, but back to turn 1 this year...King of the Hill!

I could not watch the FP2 live, and the RTBF has not yet posted the replay. Most likely because they want home before the end of the session.

Excepted for the KTMs, all the bikes seem to be competitive.

I am watching FP3 live, and Marc Marquez avoided another possible high side in turn 2 by the skin of the teeth....

Nice from Johann Zarco to provide a reference to Jorge Martin for the pole.... Marquez dodged E. Bastianini who was attempting the same.

Marquez was clearly the best rider in the race, w a brilliant performance. But I'm still rooting for Suzuki's Rin's and Mir's smooth approach of closing in at the end of the race to podium, again.

Marquez was really lucky to not have hit, or being hit when he completely missed his braking early in the race. He managed to make an emergency exit through a minuscule gap in the traffic. 

Rins was faster than Enea Bastianini; once again, if the Suzuki had qualified better, the outcome would have been different.

I also agree that Marc Marquez would have been fighting for victory had he not had that starting problem on the grid. Making his way through the field all the way up to 6, including a good fight with Fabio Quartararo completed a nice race day.

It is now blatant that if you don't start at the top of the grid on race day, it is almost impossible to win.

I agree qualifying is critical this year. If Marquez would have qualified and started better he would have won as he was running with the fastest times all day(that's going through the field while doing those times which is super human). As for the Suzuki's they are down on power and top speed, but both the riders and bike are super consistent. That's why Rin's is second in the standings now. Can you win a title without winning a race?

Marquez lost because he was in last place because of a botched start.  If he hadn't been last but even mid pack, he very well could've won.   The Suzukis didn't have the horsepower to keep up with Ducs on the long straights but have good tire wear and handling to run a consistent race.

Suzuki already won a championship with Mir only winning one race. And he nearly won the title without winning any races.

Marquez did have the pace to run with the leaders. But I am not sure he would have won if he hadn't blown the start. He would have had a shot at it for sure, but a sure thing? No.

As it turned out, it was an enjoyable race to watch. And I was happy to see Bastianini win again. I just wish Aleix Espargaro could have done a little better on the Ape. Gotta root for the underdog.
