Triumph Speed RR versus Ducati Panigale V2?

Recommended Posts

A true sports car and a true money pit. I know; when you love, you do not count....

The car is with Einar and just to fix that small oil ooze, it is going to be as much as purchasing my Guzzi Le Mans last year....

I need to change the four shock absorbers too. The four of them are leaking oil through the piston. The rebound dampening is affected.

If feels like when you go to the dentist for a simple cleaning lol.... they always found a bunch of other problems...

I feel your pain, I just had to put a new battery in my Corvette yesterday.   It's an easy lift but cost me a full $170 ! <Guzzi content>

The scary part was only finding one after going to four different autoparts stores and Walmart.  The strange part is the battery died before my very eyes.  After opening the electric hatch latch, the electric door latch failed to open.  Battery was checked at 5volts.  DEAD.  Car is daily driver.

Maybe you remember the times when batteries were not maintenance free?

You could use density to check the acid, testing each element, and adding distilled water as needed.

The battery on my Ford died surreptitiously and bricked the car's ECU! obviously out of warranty. I could not even replace the battery myself, because the ECU needed to be reprogrammed. Not only did I need to purchase a new battery after less than three years, but had to also pay for the ECU programming.

Did you know they have a special charge each time they "connect" to the ECU? this connect charge covers the cost of computing equipment, software maintenance, interfaces and technician. Plus the labor cost of course. It is only 20 USD for the "connect", but still....

$20 is a steal . Up here is at least $100 @ dealerships in Paducah , and they don't back down . If you've ever owned a scanner...... Mine was $7k five years ago w/a $120/mo. subscription !

A good quality Radar detector (Beltronics, Escort, Valentine) highly recommended and allows more driving enjoyment.  Why drive in a school of fish, and gamble on getting a ticket, much better to be in control of one's own destiny and the radar detector allows that.  So many spots in Texas with wide open places, no traffic, plenty of room to let the horses run free!

Enjoy!

While I got ticketed and prohibited from driving motor vehicles in my country of citizenship, I never infringed the law anywhere else in the world where I worked and lived.

In certain countries, arrests for what is generally a misdemeanor car turn pretty ugly, putting your life in the balance. There are places in the world where a fender bender can get you lynched because you are a foreigner.

But I don't follow rules out of fear, but out of respect; maybe age got into it too....
