EXACT exhaust options...

Foolish to discount the M4s until you try them. If you don't like the shine, you can paint. I did the research and for my money, the M4 sounded almost as good as the FBF, were better built by far than FBF and at least as good as the best pipes out there, and give as much power as any other slip on. Too many variables for exact comparo unless you try all pipes on the same bike and test under same conditions. Given the above, and that I got the m4s new with new Stucchi cross over for $800 USD I went that way. It was a 30 minute install, 25 of that for the cross over, which attests to M4s design / build, rather than my wrenching skills.

Does Raceco produce their own exhaust or just distribute a different brand? The Raceco exhausts look very similar to Leo's (ie..I like them). And on their website, the v11 big bore x-over looks like a Stucchi.

The Galassetti's have a sweet design, but I don't care for the carbon look...wonder if that style comes in Ti or SS and works with a Stucchi?

Per RACECO, I do not believe this company actually makes (or made) anything.  Also, there was (maybe still is) a guy on ebay liquidating parts from what he says WAS Raceco in the UK.

The website was still up a bit ago, but I think Al R is right -- those pipes were simply rebranded Leos.

I thought they looked very similar too. When I put the pictures up I thouht that I had posted the same thing twice. Also their website does not seem to have been updated for a long time.

I was interested to find out if anyone knew more just because they are local-ish, in the U.K.

The Galassettis look good to me. They have replied with prices but didn't answer about how much of the pipework is included. It's hard to be sure whether prices are for one can or both, or what else exactly – unless it's actually stated (which in this case it is not).

"guzzi v11 scura acciaio 420.00 carbonio 480.00."

I presume that carbonio is carbon. Acciaio???

Amadeo has got into tuning sports car (for Caterhams & suchlike I think) engines & doesn't do much with Guzzis now. I talked with him back of last year - then, he still had some stuff, would still supply bits/arrange machining/dispense knowledge but wasn't interesting in building. Better living, less grief with the cars I think.

Acciaio is Steel. Though I don't see anything but supertwins with the steel exhaust on galassetti's web gallery. From the pictures, it "looks" as though you have to lose the rear hugger with their setup. Also not sure how you keep from melting your stock turn signals (signals? i don't need no stinkin signals!). cool concept though, and with their brackets, you keep a nice height for passenger pegs.

Straight Dope on the Neptunes:

Thanks so much for the inquiry about the Neptune Performance Mufflers.

They are exceptionally built and provide a nice performance increase.

The Dual outlet mufflers are 20% louder than the single outlet mufflers. They definitely have a very unique, loud bark. I think you would be very impressed.

Here is pricing for the mufflers, per muffler, LESS shipping.

OVAL POLISHED OR BRUSHED                $475

OVAL BLACK                                      $525

TWIN OUTLET POLISHED OR BRUSHED $535

TWIN OUTLET BLACK                               $585

They would have to be special ordered and would take about 3 weeks to get here, maybe less. They must be paid in full in advance and there are no returns unless the pieces are damaged or defective.

Neptune Mufflers are all manufactured using T-304 stainless steel.

The end caps are fully formed in mirror finished stainless steel. The inlet caps for the bolt on type all retain the original seals & bolts for ease of installation.

The outlet spouts have a fully rolled edge & all welds are internal.

The main body comes in round or elliptical, they are robotically welded & are available in mirror finish stainless steel, brushed stainless steel & black chrome stainless steel.

Being stainless steel you would expect the mufflers to be heavy but they only weigh 2.6kg-3.2kg. This low weight is achievable due to the end cap & body construction. Neptune Mufflers will enhance performance with a gain through mid range on most models. The sound of a Neptune Muffler is deep & throaty.

Call me with any questions at 908-447-3724 or at 973-258-0034

thanks,

Andrew

Those would be really nice if they weren't so damn expensive I'm still looking at the Mistrals I'll be putting things off for a month or so tho until I'm sure I can't get my top choices, Oh btw I talked to FBF and I guess they said they "never" produced the Ti's but I'm confused why they have them on the site must just be to see if there was any interest in them., they only sell the carbons. and the crossover is about 6weeks away from being available again. I came across these Pipes that I've been talking about and they appear to be a good deal

Homologated -- E3 compliant. In a word -- quiet, so why waste your money?

So, Deben...

If my calculations are correct, you can get the Mistral titanium oval high pipes with the brackets necessary for the installation -- with shipping -- for about $931 USD.

Not bad. Good info -- exactly what I'm looking for.

Per FBF, I just get bad vibes from them -- like something isn't quite right. Their listing of the titanium silencers without even manufacturing them falls right in line...

We carried the Mistrals for several years--

The carbon tends to fade in the Texas sun-- giving a dried, dead snakeskin kind of look.

For tihis reason, we now carry the M4. the polished end caps and glossier finish on the carbon take a little getting used to, but seems to hold up quite well.

Sound between the 2 is indistinguishable to my ears.

Well the fading or just plain overly glossy is the main reason I'm looking at the Ti line should hold up well be nice and light, I am thinking there isn't much of a bonus over the Alum Just a looks thing but hopefully Ti's just won't scratch or dent as easy nor hopefully get brittle or corode from all the wonderful salt on the MN roads. If I'm out of my mind and making no sense let me know Maybe I'll save some money with the alum and pick up a PCIII at the same time Nothing like going broke saving money.

You're not....unless I am too :huh2:

I'm going to do the same thing.....Get some Mistral Aluminum ovals and a PC111 :bike:
