  3. Here it is, framed and really stunning! I was going to purchase the other remaining one, but someone beat me to it.... as usual, the frame cost twice as much as the lithography! the glass that covers it, is special in that it protects from UV's and does not reflect light... museum grade, but hey, it is really looking good! I like the narrative too: -"The International Favorite Road Burner"! it really reflects what it represents to me... I should have taken a picture of it in front of my Le Mans before hanging it on the wall....

  4. I had to look up what a W123 was, and yes, now you mention it, there's a lot of them on the road in NZ. MB seems okay, but many recent models of European cars don't seem to age well. Great when new... The Volvo is an obvious exception. Great cars, similar reliability and durability to Japanese and Korean cars.

  5. What dependable car ? Yes a w123 , boring but dependable, same era for the K 1000. 1100 late 80 early 90s. Great French engineering those engines. My friend passed 476k km this summer, same speedo,,,, hello. D IPA time Cheers Tom. .

  6. To bring more emphasize on the topic: (both homemade)... Here's the Le Mans! Here's the Scura!

  7. However, think about it.... If you are talking shop with someone who does not you, when you say Le Mans, chances are he/she will understand what it is about. Scura? does not have the same magic; unless of course, you are with a V11 addict !

  8. I was hanging out at Moto guzzi classics yesterday when a 97 Centauro rolled up on a flatbed. The rider said it did something weird on the interstate and the rear wheel locked up. I doubt that, because he was still alive. I told Mark that I would take a look at it tomorrow cuz he was busy on a couple of loops. Suspected the rear drive, and that was it. It is not worth trying to rebuild. The kid is in a bind if Mark can't find one.. give Mark a call at 562 986 0070

  9. From Mark. It was low on gear lube. If you use the side drain hole to find the level and if you use a funnel to fill which drains toward that side of the rear drive it can flow down the threads and pour out the side hole before it's really up to that level. always fill with measured amount and don't even take the side plug out.

  10. What pisses me off is this dictator moderator squeezes his way on in just a few years has taken over control.. I like to be able to ask the people stuff about my wife's saturn or hear about Luthiers guitar building etc... but now strictly guzzi or nothing? surely there could be other ways to control the real problem members rather than offend the people who are on the board because of it's broad range of discussion and expertise. giving that power to a recluse on an Island off Alaska with a his own complete set of standards is too much for me so I left.
