  1. Not sure I can (or want to) fab a tow hitch for the GTV6, think I could shoe horn this into a spine frame? (Too much for a Tech session?)

  2. Count me out of fishing ... other than from the bank. I have hurled on almost every boat ride I've taken, whether aboard a dreadnaught or a dory, in heavy chop or on a glassy lake. Ditto aircraft of all sorts, tail draggers to Delta One over the pond. Heck, I was a master military parachutist back in the day, when the young(er) paratroopers had been carousing the night before and now smoked -- yes, really -- in flight. Couple that with an NOE flight on a hot North Carolina summer's day, and I was miserable. That said, I did become quite deft, even elegant , at filling the little bag. Apologies for the reverie of days of yore, but just reading about your fishing-charter plan made me step outside for a breath of fresh air where I recalled that ancient history. Just in case I have not been clear enough, that would be "NOPE!" to leaving shore. Best, Bill P.S. The sKSR, followed by the Mutton Run up to Daviess County, may actually be the start of a moto-run out to the PNW in early June.

  3. Found CBR600RR mirrors are the fit for the 'Sport, though bases differ through the choices and some are perfect, some less so but usable. Also found (of course) that my voltage regulator has made doody apparently. Voltage has always been on the low side since I've owned it, about 13.8. More recently, and without explanation, voltage went up to 14.3 where it should always have been. One of the first things when I got the bike was to run ground wires to everything everywhere including the regulator so that's ok. On my ride to coffee Tuesday, left home at 13.3 and 30 miles later arrived at home at 12.1. Voltage rises some with RPM but never exceeds 13.1. I suspect one of the diodes has gone bad making for 1/2 charge and leaky battery syndrome. I've ordered a new Shindengen from Roadstercycle.com as I installed on my '74 Aermacchi, and even that weak suck charges 14.6. Now to decide whether to do yoga or take the fairing back off to change it. :/ Of course I'll verify both legs of the alternator too.

  7. Just to clarify, @Pressureangle is mounting these mirrors to the fairing of a (pre-V11) 1100 Sport-i . . .

  8. Odd failure. I'd replace the bearing and see what happens. Make sure everything is cleaned out thoroughly and check the other bearings in the box.

  11. Bump…..I have the 1st cottage rented, feeling optimistic for the Spring Kentucky Spine Raid. Plenty of “tech sessions” in the garage, curvy roads and BBQ. We will be staying by the lake, I’ve been researching a few fishing charters if we have anyone interested…..

  13. If you find yourself in NE Tennessee, swing by and we can take mine out, I need a good excuse to drive it more. I wish today's engines were pretty as Busso V6.

  16. Nice- one of the better looking modern beeeeemers. I have a 2000 740i E38 myself. 4.4 litre beast, sounds mighty, most of the electrics work, only marginal rust around the rear arches 🙂. A pleasure to drive.
