  1. Took my '03 Le Mans for a long spirited ride with my buddy and his '06 Ducati Supersport (yesterday). Still have a smile on my face. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk

  2. I'm not far behind. I think the real problem is that we don't want to throw away the old stuff even after it's worn out because we know how much we paid for it (a lot!).

  3. They were the prettiest bikes on the grid even with those awful wings.

  4. I was more impressed with Rins than Mir, even though Mir won the title. Mir was not as fast as Rins, but he was consistent. He only won one race on the way to the title, and that was at the end. He nearly won the title without winning a single race. I hope Mir is able to adapt to the Honda, but I am concerned it is going to end his career as it has for others. But it was nice to see Rins riding like he rode the Suzuki. I hope he is able to do that again. And I hope Rins can stop crashing. I don't think he will ever win a title if he can't stop crashing.

  8. Yep, I figure using my existing "spacer" and adding the expensive washer and nut to the Moto Guzzi cadmium bolt will set me back a whopping $10US including the shipping costs.

  9. Getting back to this: The switch arrived today. The bloke that sent it still hasn't informed me how I can get the money to him. €20,- seems to be a pretty fair price to me. Anyway, with a bit of luck I should be able to get in to the garage tomorrow and install the switch. I'll be having a look inside, of course. At the very least clean and grease (I've got a hold of some Caigs grease, so I'll be trying that...). Depending on how the insides of the "new" switch look, it might be a case of "mix and match" with bits out of the old one. Report on progress probably in about 24 hours.

  10. New bolt(s) arrived from Harpermoto today (4 weeks). Screw, 10mmx59mm 01357731 They are 10.9 hardness and all very nicely cadmium plated. I continue to suspect this is largely about corrosion protection at that vulnerable location. Very much like the potential shock eye breakage reported at the nearby shock pivot bolt that suffers from similar neglect and corrosion. @Curtis Harper has a few of these on hand. And I'll be sporting a few in the Tekno pannier as SpineRaid party favors . . .

  12. I'll ask him when I get back to Virginia. Naturally, there will be a surcharge for my providing contact info. I don't know the experiences of others, but I was aware of the sticking cable before the recall fix, but not since. Actually, my throttle grip still sticks, but because of my inept installation of heated grips. I have decided to view that as a "feature," i.e., aftermarket cruise control. Bill

  15. This one easy to look at too. It’s all about the 10 finger base

  16. @Guzzi-in-Vancouver posted this delightful track in another thread, but I thought it deserved a place here. As pretty and talented as the vocalist is, I can't take my eyes off the funky, animated clarinetist!

  17. The trouble is you need so many types of clothing. The denim cut-off and original jeans, no gloves or helmet when running with your self styled hard dude mates. Worn Barbour jacket, old work trousers, open face helmet and rubber boots when riding off road, or green laning as we Brits call it. Full hi-tech leathers, carbon fibre helmet and kangaroo skin gloves for those thrashes with the fast jap bike set. Comfy waterproof jacket, plastic trousers, old full face helmet to go to work. Oversuit to cover your good clothes if going into town and need to look smart. For years I always rode in a wax cotton jacket, blue jeans and rigger boots. Finally managed to buy a leather Rocker jacket with plenty of zips and studs, and of course my wallet held by achain to my belt. Then I got richer and started buying modern kit that does not seem to last any time. How do I now about the list of kit, because I still have it all of it.
