  2. The pic was taken in MS. It's mine (Sierra77) it was the "chase plane" for Paul's test drive of my Scura. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. That is a good looking bike Paul! I hope you enjoy riding it as much as I enjoyed bringing it back into shape. Enjoy brother! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. (Sold) Scura 287. Central Mississippi. Aircraft mechanic owned. Bought this back in February. It scared me on the test hop (oily and rock hard tires and needed suspension adjustments) and had at least a dozen things wrong with it. It's now all fixed and handles good, so I'm bored with it and want to find another project. This bike has less than 7500 miles total and since buying it in February it has been ridden around 30 miles per week. At 6700 miles the transmission was rebuilt by Moto International because a previous rider broke a shift fork. It now shifts better than any of my Guzzis. The front struts were resealed about a year ago. The battery was replaced with a sealed glass mat type about a year ago. It has new ContiMotion tires and new aft wheel bearings. Cush blocks still look new. Unmodified, unpainted, all original. Everything works on this bike. Has tool kit, but only one key and it does NOT have a owners manual. contact: iwillflyit@gmail.com$5200 firm. Clean MS title. Cash Only. Sorry Sold 10-8-16
  5. On the paint issue... looks to me like a dull/satin clear over a semigloss black base coat. Same with grey.
  6. Thanks Scud. I'll check it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Thanks for the input. 02 scura tires/pressures all to spec. Haven't had the time to hunt up the manuals you're referencing, so used the service manual for a v11 cafe sport. Tires are too old, tread good, but hard. New ones on the way. I set everything back to 13 turns/clicks and 3 on the dampener. No sag! It was stiff as a board! I'm the fourth owner near as I can tell. I'm 200lbs, one of the previous owners must have been much larger and "springed" it accordingly. I backed the springs all the way to soft and ty-wrapped the piston. Took it for a ride on my roughest curviest road. It's much better, but my indicator was a half inch from bottoming out. It handles much better, but still misbehaves a little, but not bad at all. I've got six bikes right now. I'll add a turn to the springs each time this one comes into the riding rotation and see how it feels along the way. Already though, it's a much funner ride. Can't wait for the new rubber. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I know this is a little off topic, but I have a Scura specific question. I have patiently done a soft restore on my Scura. It's not perfect cosmetic speaking, but certainly draws attention. It only has 6000 miles and is fun for little jaunts or high speed, but I find it exhausting when used for practical commuting below 55 mph. I guess it's the tires, but it just seems too "flickable" and without the stabilizing aerodynamic force from speed it wanders from track due to pavement imperfections. I've decided it demands too much attention on my towns rough roads to be enjoyable. Are there any tires which can slow down the lean speed and make it track better? If not, I'm afraid I'm going to put it on the block. Has anyone found a tire that tames the tiger? Mine is an '03.
  9. Greetings All, S287 now lives in Madison, MS. Had some electrical glitches, but I've steadily whittled them down. I'm close to having her roadworthy again. For some reason I don't have front turn signals installed, (suggestions please), my oil pressure idiot light switch need replacing and I don't have a neutral light, but other than that I love it! I've ridden it close to home (away from the Highway Patrol). The torque is awesome, riding position relaxed (compared to my 1100 Sport) and the suspension seem almost like it floats over the ever present dips in our Mississippi roads.
