  2. Just like it says.I'm looking for a service manual for a 2004 v111 lemans. If you have one to spare I want it. let me know what you want for it.Thanks Mike 440 623 3356
  3. I have two of them coming from Harpers. I hope to have them by the weekend.I was told when I bought the bike I would have to be able to use my tool box! Scud sent me a link.Any other input on this job?
  4. Scud, it seems all I do is thank you. It looks like a pretty straight forward job. Now I gotta find/get the spring!
  5. Hi,so with the help of some very cool people here on the forum I did get the part I needed.Only problem is there is a bigger problem. After installing the shift lever I find out it wont shift!! I'm guessing its the return spring.I understand that this is a weak spot.I cant find here on the forum on what must be done to change the spring. If that is not the problem I would guess it's a real tranny issue. I starting to wonder what I got myself in for. My first post on here was about buying my first MG. A little more detail on that. It's the second one I paid for!! The first was a scam on oddle. This happened this spring. The Lemans was at Port Galvenson Texas. The whole thing was a very well put together SCAM. I'm out 3800.00! The FBI is trying to catch the bad guys.I'm out the 3800.00 though. So lets recap.Buy a Guzzi get ripped out of 3800. OK life happens,I put that behind me. Buy a beauty of MG here on the forum. Drive it home,it runs great! I'm soooo happy. Ride back and forth to work a few times. The little shifter thing goes south.OK, I get with the Guzzi dealer. He tells me a 20 dollar part cost 140.00 and I can't have it. OK I get the part.put it on and now it's a 8 dollar spring!! Comon!! Anyone in the market for a beautiful Lemans? It sounds great!! Just dont ride it.LOL
  6. The local MG dealer just called to tell me my order will not work. The part is on back order in the USA! Just thought I would let everyone know. This sucks!!
  7. Ok.Ill post more pictures. Tom M said he got 12k out of his shifter. My bike has 12 on it now. The P.O. said that all the after market on the bike was on it before he bought it in 2006 with 2000 miles on it. I would guess the shifter was put on just after the first owner bought it. I have the stock shifter and pegs. The after market a good 1.5 to 2 inches away from the bike. With my size 14 shoe I think I'm going to leave the after market on it.I'm going to have the part in question made out of billet I think.
  8. I'm looking for the bolt that goes from the spline to the the shifter.Mine broke. It's pot metal.I'd buy yours or if you can tell me where I can get one ASAP that would be great. Thanks Shiny Mike 440 623 3356. [ edit: I ordered it from the dealer.Hold on to your hats! 134.00 plus tax = 140.40 out the door! ]

    bike cover

I saw on an ad for a MG a red in door bike cover. The red cover had a gold circle on it,it had the Eagle and Moto Guzzi on it. Any one ever seen this before? Wanna sell it? Where can I get one? Let me know Shiny Mike
  11. Hi guys. First MG and all I want to tell you about how it felt to buy this bike. OK after almost five hours in the Escape listening to my lovely wife of 24 years telling me about her work stories we get to Lou's house. There it is sittting in the drive way in her red dress.Just sitting there looking as sexy as sexy can be! All Italian, sexy, charming, polished,so sedutive. Wow! This is just so cool! Lou introduce's himself. He starts talking Moto Guzzi. All good but I just want to gaze at the bike.My wife is talking about something too. I truly dont know what either are saying. After a minute or two I snap out of it,phew, good. Lou shows me how to start CARMEN (thats her name). She rumbles from her sleep.Shes not quite, she kinda barks to life.I'm thing BMW Rockster. This is not that! This bike is full of attitude.I'm not sure its a good atitude.Kinda sounds demanding. Lou says Mike do want to ride it? I'm off! When I first arrived I was thinking Sophia Loren. This is NOT Sophia Lorren.Just as sexy but way different then that. This is not the girl you take home to mom! I hit second gear jump on the gas a little.Carmen grunt, rumbles and even shakes a little and takes off.She sounds pissed off!I loved it.I'm thinking this is not at all what expected.I say to myself "Mike is this what you want?" Um...OK,not the cool seductive Sophia,no this is Carman Eletrica in fishnets and thigh high boots.Get the other bikes out of the garage, they go in the shed! Your mine now.I think I herd her say "Mike, your about to wright bad checks to keep me". I hope to bring Carmen home next weekend.
  12. I bought the Buffalo bike!!!You can just tell it is much loved. After market exhaust, race commander, bar end mirrors, handle bars, rear fender elemanater. all that stuff is on the bike.I get all the stock parts. The biggie though was how much Lou liked and took care of the bike. Ill post pictures tonight. I did not take the bike home with me.I hope to pick it up This Friday.
  13. So there is a guy on the forum here with a 2004 Lemans. I think I like it better so I'm leaving for Buffalo New york here in an hour or so. I could not a V11 now I have my choise of two. Funny how things go
  14. Yep,the manager of a motorcycle dealer named Chopper! Who woulda thought. My dad had a Eldo when I was a kid. The last time on was on his bike Iwas 14 years old,55 now!
  15. Correct.I 'm gonna pay 5000.00 As we speak I left a 200.00 deposit over the phone.I'm going to the dealer Friday to see and purchase the bike. If the bike is what I except we're good if not Chopper the manager said no problem with a refund. After hearing you Guzzi guys I think everything should be fine. I want it! I get it's not new.I get it's different.I need it make me feel like it wont break apart. I'll make it pretty. I'll get back and let you guys know how it worked out. Shiny Mike
  16. Hi Scud.Yes I ride the heck out of the GS.I'm telling you that bike is fffast. I bought it on ebay 10 years ago and have been making it better ever since. I know a custom painter who wanted some aluminum polished. So we traded,I polished a boat motor for him hes custom painting the body work on the Suzuki. Of course the polishing is done but the body work is not. He promised it back by the end of April. New this year for Suziq.new Barnent clutch,Dayna coils and new brakes and tires.I have not bought the tires yet.Eveything else is in the garage. I dont want you to think this is a project bike.It looked and ran great last year.I just wanted to give her some love. OK the CB 750. Well I bought this bike complete with 10500 miles on it 6 or 7 years ago. It's never run on my watch! I got it pulled the Vetter farring off. Sent the gas tank out.Cleaned the gummed up carbs.Bought the correct headlight and bracket it for it.All good right? Then we moved.I boxed it up and never touched again untill a few weeks ago!Its still all there. With the Guzzi coming and the Suziq apart the CB will sit again.Maybe this winter. Oh, I said I polish.Im talking magazine, show quality stuff. Both the CB and GS look like there is chrome every where, nope, just polished!! Reguards Shiny Mike!!
  17. Wow! What a nice group of guys!!I thank all of you for your in put. No your not going to scare me away! 'm still going down there Friday,I truly can't wait! I understand the bbike is 13 years old and its not a Jap bike.there are going to be somethings to take care of.I labour of love. this will be my newest bike by 22 years! In the garage is a 1982 Suzuki GS1100e. I could show this bike.10 Years of loved ownership. Also a 1976 Honda 750 SS. She a project that will be pretty cool if I EVER get it done. So to me the V11 is the everyday rider. Thanks again for all the in put. I'll get back with you guys after my vist to Columbus. BE SAFE Mike
  18. Ballabio! Thanks for getting back guys.I left a deposit at maxxcycle just outside of Columbus Ohio. Its still on there web site.I'm driving down Friday to get it. I'll be the third owner. The first guy had it for 10 years. The second owner needs to relocate and sold the bike out right to the dealer. You guys asked about price. It's on line for 4999.00. Thats what I paid. They say there a one price store.Take it leave it kind of thing. The bike from the pictures and from the sales guy looks to be bone stock.Looks like the tires have been replaced and thats it.Stock exhaust ect.. I've been looking for a V11 Guzzi for about four months. The newer the better. My second favorite body style is the Ballabio. The Coppa is off the chart! Any way I bought because I can see the bike in person,it's in my price range,I love the look heck its even my color. Check it out on line.Live pictures next week end. Thanks Mike
  19. Hi this my first post.I just bought on line a 2004 V11 from a dealer in Ohio.I pick the bike up Friday. I just want to introduce myself. my name is Mike. I go by Shiny Mike because I polish aluminum and other metals to a show qualty shine.Thats not my real job, side work. I'm so geeked about my 13000 mile 2004 Balarosa.Balarosa is that correct? Any way after a life time on Honda's and Suzuki's I feel like a classy guy going forward. If any of you Guzzi guys want to give me some pointers as what to look for BEFORE I ride the bike away from the dealer that would be great. I understand that these bikes have some Gremlins. What I'm asking about is,if you saw ? whould keep you from buying it.What are the deal breakers on a 2004 v11. Thanks Mike
