  1. Yeah, good memories with this one... Last year one of my mates from Holland actually won a 14 day trip with this clothing brand... and asked me to join him! So yes I did the Vanguard Nomadic experience which was awesome!!! To bad we had to make do with Harley's :-) But boy did I enjoy that trip! Cheers Jasper
  2. Alright, more than willing to help altough maybe this could be more effective in Italian (Antonio, please help out here). In any case I have found Dutch to be the perfect swearing language, I might be a bit biassed but my Australian work mates seem to agree with me and have changed to Dutch swearing, since productivity has gone up and no harressment in the workplace issues have been reported! Important to note here is that Dutch is a very poetic language, a total of 107 words have been recorded for the female genital alone... Anyway from my personal experience for electrical problems such as instrument cluster lights or mysterial electrical gremlins: Vieze vuile gore uitdebaarmoedergeslingerd Kutding krijg de vliegetering.. seems to always do the trick! Mechanical problems usually get solved with... Gore slettebak... ( screwdriver thrown into the ground when doing this, preferably an old one will do wonders here to) Pretty sure Jaap, Paul and Antonio will share their own tips on this subject! Ok I'd better get back to my exploded Vespa VBB clutch, swearing didn't help there! Ciao Jasper
  3. I feel your pain.. Have you tried swearing? Swearing worked really well for me, at first in English which was alright but my luck really changed when I got some Dutch swearing in there!! Good luck! Ciao Jasper
  4. Danke Guzzi@go! It's the second one! the metal I think the other part conects it further to the Crankcase! Just ordered it from TLM.. Cheers Jasper
  5. Hello! The breather hose (I think that's what you call it) cracked on the scura just at the point were it goes back to the engine oil everywhere!! a bit of ducttape and a few tie-wraps later it was a little bit better but made for some quenched buttocks riding home. Ok and now the challenge get the right part!! I think it is this one: 16 823 956 080 1 Tubo sfiato Breather pipe Tube d'évent Entlüfterrohr? Can anyone confirm that? Just to clarify it's the hose that runs from the steeringhead to back to the engine it's about 30mm. Any help would be appreciated! Ciao Jasper
  6. That is a bit scary! I lived in 't Horntje for about a hear somewhere in 1999 and another year in Den Hoorn somewhere in 2001 still love the Island!! ALways used to go back for OUde Sinterklaas (met een fles jutter onder de arm ;-))! I know what you are saying about those roads, nice smooth asphalt and no one in sight! Cheers Jasper
  7. Hey Jasper, You be carefull with that loud Guzzi on Texel, I am not kidding when I say that the combination of sheep and Guzzi doesn't work! The sheep got scared than it scared me and we both ended up in the barbwire! The sheep survived a bit better than the scura, the scura still has the battle scars to show for it! (then again the sheep is probably Shoarma by now!) I lived on Texel for about two years and there are some good roads amd some nice skydiving to be done there as well! Ciao Jasper PS That bike of yours is bijzonder hip!

    N

I have to say; the last time i had a new set of tyres (diablos, so what do you guys reckon about those?) fitted the guys offered the N2 I explained that they will end up like that anyway (as per Cliffs comments) so they filled the rear with N2 and the front with the normal stuff! IT DOES WORK (maybe only on the diablo)!!! if you are a bit lazy like me and don't check the pressures to often it seems to work, pressure in the rear stayed a lott more constant.. Ciao Jasper

    teknic

living in my shed for five years now the Teknic bags and brackets used once or twice about 5 years ago since collecting dust, so not in pristine condition but I reckon a good clean will do wonders! Not sure what these things will sell for so make me an offer (or swap for the MI GUZZI valvecovers) Items are located: Gold Coast Australia, not sure how sensible shipping is but happy to do so if required. Ciao Jasper PS On the same shelf are a scura rearsection (replaced with Pauls carbon piece), stock x-over, stock mufflers and an airbox with the carbonfiber covers, I always wanted to keep this together "just in case" but I don't think I will ever put it back together so if you are after any of those give me a pm All items are from a 2002 scura and are in pretty good condition last time I checked (2 years ago when I packed it up to move from Holland to Australia)
  10. Again love it!! How does she ride? Are you keeping the swingarm stock or making changes to it? Cheers Jasper
  11. Aus$ 800 for the scura which is about 500 US$ these days(?) Was about a 800 euro back in Holland! But the V11 is a strange bike for the insurance in Holland I got quoted 3500 euro!! which even the salesperson thought a bit rich... The ducati Multi insures for peanuts 300 bucks, the enfield bullet with sidecar seems to be uninsurable (thank god nobody wants it!) Ahh well just keep riding! Cheers Jap
  12. This week on my commute from Gold coast to Sunshine Coast (yeah I know..) I saw to V11's one gray cafe sport and one of the burgundy ones... all in one day!! Not sure were all the v11's are coming from but Brisvegas was looking very nice that day... Ciao Jasper
  13. I really don't see the problem why not use a rosso for a sidecar outfit! It would have been a waste of a perfectly good scura but a rosso? ) In any case i never understood the whole sidecar thing untill I drove one! (yes we needed that fourth bike! It's great fun sliding it around the corners!! that rosso would be an awesome ride!!! Cheers Jasper
  14. hi Rutger, Waor leg da, the Nethherlands ;-) Rosso corsa! ben jaloers! Veel plezier ermee! Ciao Jasper
  15. Hi Dabore, You could consider going to, geezz my mind is not helping me out now... the guy in Zeeland? Antonio, Paul help me out on this one? he can flash your ECU and change both iginiton and timing curves... The scura ran briljantly after Ruud Fredriks (Ha the mind isn't all that bad) had a go at it. It is important to balance the throttle bodies, set the valve clearances etc prior to this as you would imagine. Make sure you made all the mods you want to do before goin gdown this path.. I have since added some bitts and pieces and should really get another tuning session! Cheers Jasper PS in my experience there are very few people that can set-up the V11 fuel injection especially with modified exhaust and air intake after the modification the fuel consumption was lowered and the caughing at 2700 rpm virtually gone.
  16. my scura has the exact problems you are describing... It increased over the years (she never started as good as the 2000 greenie i had previously) but she has exactly the same problems. On the last service the mechanic had a good look at it and the only thing they good find was the battery; i replaced the battery with a yuasa with reversed poles, these cleared the frame by half a centimeter and the mechanic reckoned that could have been the problem. I thought it as it had the same problem with the original battery. The changes in cranking over (sometimes quickly and sometimes slowly) are definetely not explained by it. When she just clicks it sometimes helps to role the bike back and forward and yes I checked all connections. She hasn't let me down so far so I am not to worried about it.. yet! We just call it character.. Good luck and if you find anything post it on the board! Cheers Jasper
  17. when I shipped my bikes from Holland to OZ I picked up a steel motorcycle crate from a local dealer (they come delivered in that from Japan) We shared a container with some friends, but you can purchase container space per m3 quite easily. It takes a bit more input from yourself as in dropping off and picking up and some paperwork but I believe the money saved is definitely worth it. A m3 container space holland-oz turned out to be about 200 euro if I remember correctly... Good luck Ciao jasper
  18. hey Antonio, Hope you are alright after the crash? from the sound of it you were able to ride it home so hopefuly nothing to serious? Ciao Jasper
  19. Een naamgenoot! grappig! That is going to be one interesting daytona you are building there! be sure to keep us up to date on the developments! did you by any chance get to weigh the RSV rim? I would be interested in doing something similair for a V11 and using these rims might be a good approach as magnesium Marvic's seem to be the only set that is still available for V11. Would the braking ones (posted by antonio a while back) be an option for this excercise? Or should I rephrase that in more general terms: can forged Alluminium be welded? Cheers Jasper PS I had a briljant ride today! started nice and early around 7 and returned at 20:00!! Just love the scura on the mountain roads! Swapped bikes with my girlfirend who rides a Duc multistrada and was surprised she loved the scura (compared to the multi it is a bit of a heavy beast to ride!)
  20. Looking really good! @mille108, en nu nog een 6 versnellingsbak???? :-) @Antonio; I know we are chasing the same thing (lighter wheels for the V11) so this might be an option with the braking rims I would say! let me know how you go! Ciao Jasper
  21. HI Ged, I read your original post, and I have very similair "challenges" with my scura! For me the wiggle trick has worked thus far... Although she didn't wanted to go a couple of weeks ago.. messed around with the relays (since that one wasn't clicking this time, normally no problems there!) and fired right up.. It's a bit annoying but I checked all the tips people gave in your original post and could not find anything wrong! Good luck! Cheers Jasper
  22. That's excactly what i need.. Thyanks! It seperated on it's own.... so replacement is due! I think i'll go and source the plastic bit in metal might be easier than trying to order the original part from MG Cheers Jasper
  23. Thanks! Yeah the baljoint has excessive play which I like to sort. I thought I'll just see how much the OEM replacement would be and than make a decission on a solution. I'll propbably replace the balljoint bit with something from a local shop. Cheers Jasper
  24. G'day, looking for a part number for the linkage between the two throttle bodies, mine has excessive play for some weird reason Checked out the workshop manual/part catalogue cd but can't find it there! whats' going on there? Ciao Jasper
