thanks Skeeve, some excellent points. especially regarding proce of visors, its one reason I'm thinking of a new helmet. My shoei is 6yrs old and needs a new visor, but this is £60 / $80 with pinlock anti-fog insert!! crazy

Thinking about a new helmet and may consider a flip-up model, but would like to know of any downsides to them. I've always bought Shoei full face helmets before, but will consider anything of good quality, especially as the price of new helmets (Shoei / Arai) was quite eye watering! Any advice.... Paul

Andrew, Hope your'e going to get the tools out soon. I'm sure it will all go back together again no problem. If you need any help give me a call. One tip from me when I had the swing arm out, is to suspend the bike from a set of step ladders (a sturdy set of course) and use tie down staps to elevate it. I then slipped in some wood blocks under the sump and carefully shared the load between step ladders and wood block. Hope to see soon at a kent Guzzi meet? Paul Smart Kent

'Tis a thing of beauty & a joy forever, but I'd want mine to retain the stock "aero" flush mount gas cap setup. Powder coated black to match the rest of the bike [& save my vision on sunny days! ] & it certainly would seem to be a solid solution to the fuel-stretch issue w/ the plastic nylon tank! What did that beauty run you? Approx $950 US delivered from The Tank Shop.

Since posting a couple of months ago, I've left the tank empty and vented (fuel cap open). Yesterday I was able to remount the tank, it was still a tight fit, but much better. lost some paint in the process... So they do shrink a bit. Its now bolted down, with the hope I can force the tank to return to the correct position/shape. I will keep the minimum quantity of fuel in it for the future. Paul

I would use the product again, but I would do everything possible to texture the tank prior to coating. As for how it will hold up overtime, I will find out. I did use the entire contents of the kit as prescribed for larger tanks. It looks as though the areas that have a thicker coating have no lifting. Makes me think that a bit more would have helped. My petrol tank had been off the bike for a couple of months while I did some other works. Now the tank won't refit, it has increased in width and length, by 1/4 inch, so the forks now touch on full lock, and I can't get rear mounting bolt through hole. A quick search of internet and I discover its down to the petrol and is common to many other plactic tanks on Ducati's, KTM's Harley, BMW etc, And the swelling will reduce if tank left dry and venting for a few weeks - is this right???? What options do we have, an alloy custom made tank seems an expensive (and long wait), any one have one thats a replica of original?? Paul

I have been touching up the red frame on the V11, with: Halfords Tool box red and I can honestly say it is an absolutely perfect colour match. I'm really pleased with it. I used a touch up stick that as well as a small brush has a needle application for use on tiny chips. Of course this brilliant colour match is more useful for us in the UK able to shop at Halfords, but tool box red is quite universal, if not a glamourous paint name, I'd have like ferrari rosso red or similar, but no tool box red is the match. If only I could get a perfect colour match for the silver engine! Paul
