  2. Thanks A few more tricks I am going for next will be a black oil pan to lessen the silver area, black engine guards and red valve covers in that order. We will see what works or doesn't work?
  3. FYI On my 2000 sport I have the Stucchi and just took the big ugly silver cans off and put on late model CF cans which are 4 inches shorter and 10 pounds lighter. This weight reduction really makes the bike feel lighter around the garage for sure! The sound surprisingly is deeper and quite nice. I am surprised at the difference and very much less muted. Turned out to be a good upgrade and looks better too.
  4. The heaviest Moto X bike in the world....if that's what the theme is?
  5. Wow No ridge on the bore it seems. The valve is screwed for sure. Going to hone it for new rings?
  6. Well, mine has 2700 miles as each guy that bought it could not handle the low bars and kept taking it back to the dealership. Then I got it last year and had to have back surgery so I can't ride it until later this year now, so on it goes.......................
  7. That works! Post a pic further back a little for the full effect. I have ben considering one too.
  8. It should be the red that is on the bike already.
  9. I was on their site but your system does not seem to be there?
  10. Simon, Post the link to where you bought it. I like it, good choice!
  11. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery...or something like that. I stole the idea off the internet somewhere
  12. Just as a reference here is my silver with new red everywhere, no hugger and stock black arm. I painted the muffler mounts black too and then the seat cover red instead of the swing arm.
  13. I considered red when I was adding red highlights to my silver V11 Sport but decided to leave it black and not draw attention to it. On a black Sport I found on the web the red looked good as an extension of the frame but I wasn't as convinced with silver. The closest red paint I have found for the frame and pork chops is Dodge Viper red. Pretty darn close. Powder coat for durability but really bad when time to re-do it!
  14. That one's on my list. Bring the vintage bikes maybe this year as I bought a trailer to bring them all in.
  15. Being new too Guzzi I will say that the guys at Wild Goose are very nice to me. But I did buy a bike that many in the NE knew of? I lived in Houston out of college and still work there some but if you're in Dallas look me up. Oh, glad you made it through the wreck too!
  16. What is the basic story? Don't know anything about it but sounds like something I might like?? Is it off the network now?
  17. There are some on Fleabay right now I think? Find Guzzi renew on Fleabay he wrecks them out of southern California. He will have pegs. Good guy. Good luck!
  18. I just bought all of them from Dan at http://dpguzzi.com/ They were all original and now they are trash:)
  19. Mine died for no reason last month and I replaced the relays and fixed it. Have no idea why but everything electronic on the left handle bar controls also stopped working another few weeks after the tach quit. The relays fixed all of that and saved me a lot of time trouble shooting!
  20. Just sold one for a Cafe cheap on this site.
  21. Well, not knowing either of your wives all I can say is that I wished my wife had a set of cans like those that I could borrow for my bike
  22. RaceTech is top notch. They also have local rebuilders / dealers and you may find one close to you and save the shipping. I think you can look for locals on their website.
  23. Just jack the front end up at the triple tree or hang it from something and loosen the upper and lower triple tree pinch bolts. Lower the bike down and measure 10mm from the top of the fork to the upper triple tree. There are plenty of threads. Let some one else do it if you don't have the capability. On the rear shock need a spanner or a strap wrench or if you don't care about cosmetics a flat screw driver and a hammer...ouch, can't believe I said that ;-() The tire is a problem. Too big for the red frames anyway. A 160 will help!
  24. Nice bike. You can drop the forks 10mm and that is the accepted mod for these bikes from all the reading I have done around here and on the other forums. That will make some difference. From the pic the rear spring is out quite a bit but it looks to have a little left on the thread? The other is what rear tire size is on it? A 160, as many recommend around here, will drop it a little more from a 170 or 180. Question, how do you like the sounds from the pod filters? I put a set on mine but I still have stock mufflers and they sounded terrible. Kind of like a choking pig with gas.......... Maybe Mistral's and I will try them again?
