Steve Swan
i was a surprised to see this color of oil come out of the transmission... Is it Redline? Or...? I've always used Motorex fluids in my Guzzi's, specifically Motorex 75/90 Prismazx GL-4/5. Do you think filling the trans with Motorex that's mixed in with this residual red stuff will be ok? docc
Looks like RedlIne ShockProof HeavyWeight. Nothing wrong with re-filling with your choice of gearoil. Realize that the RLSP Heavy clings internally like nothing else and it becomes too easy to overfill after it drains (or doesn't, entirely!) . . . docc
Only if you love it. If you love the Motorex, refill it with that. After a couple changes, the Redline will be gone. Just realize your first refill might not be "volumetric" as so much of that HeavyWeight remains inside after draining. Maybe underfill, run it in, and use the sight glass for the final fill. FWIW, I abandoned the HeavyWeight and use RLSP LightWeight (blue) in the gearbox and reardrive. No matter what oil, though, change on time and don't overfill . . .

Thanks @docc ! i have Motorex in my fluids inventory, so i will go with what i've always been using, it's what the dealer serviced machines with.

audiomick
Just out of curiosity, is that the colour of fresh RedlIne ShockProof HeavyWeight, or is there maybe a bit of condensation (emulsion, water...) in there?

That's what Redline ShockProof looks like, an "emulsion." Same with the Lightweight/blue.
