Any chance of getting some info

Maybe if you ask a more detailed question. What shaft? Input shaft? output shaft?

Assuming that you are talking about the output shaft seal, it is Guzzi P/N GU90404255, or Seal size 42x56x7.

However, there is lots of information on this site you should read before you do too much work.

I had a gearbox leak caused by being overfull. You should see the sight-glass no more than halfway covered, after the bike has been sitting on a center stand for several minutes. If you don't have a maintenance stand to hold it upright, then believe me you will not be able to hold it upright and get an accurate read of the oil level. Any more than half showing when upright, or any oil showing in the sight-glass when on the side stand, means it is overfull and sure to leak.

I know of a V11 gearbox that was leaking because of water ingress and foaming oil. The GB vent is in the worst place to collect road spray. See https://www.v11lemans.com/forums/topic/31139-transmission-problem-shift-bendix-any-ideas/page/2/#findComment-299737

If you’re unsure or unwilling to tackle it Michael who took my biz over is just up the road. We might even have the seal in stock. It’ll need to be Viton.

Hi thanks have a mechanic looking into it.  There is a leak between the shaft and gear box. Hopefully he will fix it.

Just about anywhere in Australia is warmer than Blackheath in winter.

I bet Ballarat isn't. Six years in a boarding school there confirmed Ballarat's reputation of being a cold and miserable place.

EDIT: the reputation has even spread to the Wiki... B)

Quote

The city has a reputation for unpredictable and extreme weather, ranging from snowfall to intense heatwaves.[82] Perhaps the most infamous feature of Ballarat's climate is the chilly winter, often accentuated by driving winds.[83] In 2023, a journalist for ABC Ballarat wrote that Ballarat "is notorious for its frosty winters and the near year-round puffer jacket uniform of its residents". When measured by mean temperatures, Ballarat is the coldest city in Victoria.[84]

Yea Mick Ballarat might give it a run but Blackheath is 1066 meters in altitude and Ballarat 435 meters and I think that has an affect with regards to "feeling" the cold. Such a nice historic town Ballarat with a lovely lake close to town, it's a shame about the weather there. Imaging being a gold miner there back in the 1800's.

A very unpleasant thought. The boarding school (St. Patrick's) with heating in the dormitories was bad enogh.

The lake is pretty, but it is a converted swamp. I was the cox of a rowing crew in my first year there, and I had a Kayak for the last couple of years there, so I spent quite a bit of time on Lake Wendouree. Nice, but one notices that it is not  natural. :huh2:

Yea been at BH for a weekend when it's snowed, many years ago as a kid. I would never live anywhere where it snowed, I'm just too soft. I whinge like a teenage school girl thats lost her mobile phone when the temp is below about 15 degrees. BTW it's 10.30am and 8.1 here as I type this.

EDIT...you got me reminiscing and "I think" I stayed in one of the 3 or 4 houses that backs onto the bush in Staveley Pde. It was 50 years ago.
