audiomick Posted October 21 Posted October 21 Just for interest's sake: would second-hand heads have the rollers in them, or are they "below" the heads? I don't expect to be buying an 8V, just curious about what course would be open to someone who had to solve the problem of needing the kit that is no longer available.
pete roper Posted October 21 Author Posted October 21 All of the relevant parts live in the cambox/rocker support superstructure which bolts on to the heads. There were two basic designs, the only real differences being how the casting was machined to achieve oil tightness between the plug tube and the head and rocker cover. I think the ‘Definitive Guide’ covers it pretty well. 1 1

activpop Posted October 22 Posted October 22 My Stelvio is '12. The serial numbers said rollers, but Pete at the time told me to do a visual. Something about Italians and the sort. I asked the owner if he could pull a valve cover and shoot me a pic. He accomodated my request, although he had to get in a "are you going to buy this bike or what?" before he commenced with the deed. It was the real deal, and off to BC I went. 2
