docc Posted November 11 Posted November 11 Progress! Definitely replace those relays with the Picker Component items, apply Caig® DeOxit to every connector you come across (don't get it on any soft seals inside the connectors). If you don't have a quality digital multimeter, get one. It will pay you back over your V11 Guzzi experience! (We'll walk you through the voltage checks . . . )
skibum69 Posted November 15 Author Posted November 15 (edited) Went for a short ride today, probably not long enough to run the battery down if it's still not charging. Good thing as I forgot to take my booster pack with me just in case. We'll see if the weather cooperates when I'll be home next in 2 weeks. It occurs to me that seat cable might have push one of the relays out of contact and caused the problem. Edited November 15 by skibum69 2
gstallons Posted November 16 Posted November 16 Your bike's charging system is 1 working or 2 not working. Choose one . 1

EDIT: after a quick glance at the schematic, I actually can't see how the seat release cable between those two relays might cause your charging problem. Nevertheless, it is between, according to my notes, the relay for the ECU and the relay for fuel/coil/ignition. If the cable dislodges one or both of those, the bike will not run. Get it out of there, even if it is not the cause of the charging problem. Edited November 16 by audiomick 2
skibum69 Posted November 18 Author Posted November 18 Yeah I did a fix that totally solves that little problem. A few strips of e-tape across the top to keep them in place and not allow anything between them. 2
skibum69 Posted November 21 Author Posted November 21 (edited) I bit of spinning around town yesterday didn't seem like it was draining the battery at all. Maybe the problem was the cable? Edited November 21 by skibum69 2
