Mr Revhead Posted November 30 Posted November 30 The previous owner of my Scura has mad an absolute mess of the stand, bracket and the boss the 6mm bracket bolt goes into. It's had a poor attempt at a Helicoil, and I think when they drilled it they had had a few too many beers as the hole is as oval as a speedway. I think the best way forward is to remove the spacer, have the hole welded up, and a new hole bored and a keysert installed. To do so, clearly I will need to remove the spacer. Before I go down that road, I just want to confirm what I think from the manual and parts list that there are no hidden traps. Aside from the two oil lines there is nothing else that needs to come off, or be undone from the spacer? All I should need is a spacer gasket and a sump gasket, and they are not the same part number? Be a good chance to clean out the sump at least.
docc Posted November 30 Posted November 30 Spacer gasket (#24) and sump gasket (#26) are different parts. Worth considering a "Roper Plate" in the process . . . @swooshdave's Roper Plate installation video probably has some good info for the sump spacer job: 2
Mr Revhead Posted November 30 Author Posted November 30 Cheers for that. So only thing I wasn't aware of was the filter housing assembly. No biggie, new orings for there and we'll be sweet! A Roper plate will be on the wish list. Problem with living in this part of the world is freight often costs as much as the product. And with the exchange rate at the moment 😱 2
