Turin Posted Sunday at 03:44 AM Author Posted Sunday at 03:44 AM what's the deal with the stelvio throttle bodies? I really miss my Quota's
pete roper Posted Sunday at 05:54 AM Posted Sunday at 05:54 AM The 50mm Throttlebodies used on the 8V motor are very wear prone. Both the spindle bushes and the chokes and plates are subject to wear if abused. Abuse can and does include numerous things but shitty air filtration, (K&N filters and the like.) over filling with oil and missing, broken or unplugged drains from the airbox can all cause wear and huge problems, especially at idle. It is also super-important to understand how the W5AM ecu works before you start fiddling with the throttlebodies. It’s easy to kill them. I’ve done a YouTube vid covering this extensively. 1
HRC_V4 Posted Sunday at 09:06 PM Posted Sunday at 09:06 PM (edited) let me know if you need parts or special tools for the GTV6, I'm a parts whore. Edited Sunday at 09:10 PM by HRC_V4 Text 1 1
SierraTango Posted Sunday at 11:21 PM Posted Sunday at 11:21 PM All this chat about Alfa GTV's brought back some Alfa memories. I owned this 74 Bertone from 1979 to 1987. It was special-Webers, Shankle cams and headers. In 87 I sold it very sad day because I needed a 4 door vehicle for my job, so I bought a Alfa 75 Milano. A great car! My ex-wife got it in a divorce and totaled it. I really wanted a GTV6 when I bought the Milano, so when I found this GTV6 in Chestnut Metallic it came to live with me. I loved that Alfa! 3
HRC_V4 Posted Sunday at 11:53 PM Posted Sunday at 11:53 PM That is one of the best colors for a GTV6, I used to see one that color in Stone Mountain, GA from time to time, we always waved in passing. 2
Turin Posted Monday at 03:49 AM Author Posted Monday at 03:49 AM (edited) WOW... A Calaway twin Turbo! The Grail of GTV6's here are some engine shots of my 3.0, it came out of a low mileage Miano Verde. Installed by Charlie Fife at Auto International in Phoenix. All my GTV really needs is a tune up and I should upgrade the front end bushings. Here are the pics of the 3.0 Edited Monday at 04:01 AM by Turin 1
HRC_V4 Posted Monday at 12:38 PM Posted Monday at 12:38 PM (edited) Only the intercooler/intake, I missed out on a Callaway about 25 years ago, the friend who bought it is the same one I bought my 430 from. I have a Verde, I just installed a Mega Squirt system in it, a good upgrade over the GoTech system I used to have in it. Sort of a beater, but a very fun car. Edited Monday at 12:42 PM by HRC_V4 2
Turin Posted Monday at 02:31 PM Author Posted Monday at 02:31 PM I'm still running the Jetronic. I did install tubular headers, cat delete/ custom mid pipe and an ANSA muffler. I didn't have the money for the long tube headers. These work fine and the sounds are outstanding. Cold air intake and silicon hoses are from Greg Gordon. 1
HRC_V4 Posted Monday at 03:20 PM Posted Monday at 03:20 PM Very nice! Those look similar to the ones on my Verde, I do have the CSC long tube headers on the 2.5 in the GTV6, I ended up putting a 3.0 ECU in my GTV6, I need to remove the rev limiter on my ECU and spark box, kicks in way too soon. Maybe we should start a Busso V6 thread.... But all three Guzzi's! 1
