  1. I recently saw a youtube video that showed a Moto Guzzi with Mistral exhaust and they said "with baffles removed".  I looked at mine and didn't see any screws anywhere where one could remove it and then take out the baffle.  Does anyone here know if they can be removed?  Thanks, Bob..

p.s. I tried uploading a photo, but it said it was too big, but it was only 126kb and the limit is 200kb.  Can anyone straighten me

out on what I'm doing wrong?

  2. ...thanks for the reply.  I'm afraid they may have quit the business.  The more I get used to the better handling (after reducing the steering dampener down from 18 clicks to 5) the high peg (for me) position isn't bothering me as much.  I'm thinking I can get away with a 2" drop.  I"ve got another 3-months before I can ride regularly anyhow, I'll plod away..Bob.

  3. ...Thanks Doc,

Do you know if John M is still active and supplying the kits?  It would be perfect for me.  I went to his website and there is still an ordering "tool" there, I guess I could go there and order one to see if the tool is still in effect.

Also, I've read the Centauro Controls would work, would you have any idea if this is true and if so, what positioning effect would it have?

I might research the shifter legs to see if there is a stock one that might work that is a bit longer.  I've got small feet (9's), so possibly I might get away without extending one.  If I go that route, I'll make up a cheap steel template, just to see if the 2 1/2" drop would be enough (I'm thinking it will), then do a nice alum. one if it'

    works out.

I'm loving the Scura otherwise.  Back in the day, I had an '84 Lemans with a full Agostini European Fairing and Krauser bags.  It was a bear to ride, but God I loved firing it up in parking garages and listening to car alarms going off.  Bob..

  4. ...hello Tim,  I agree.  I'm afraid all the variants are "special" and I'd be proud to own any of them.  I stumbled onto my Scura by accident and bought it without being able to ride it.  When I first got it, I was concerned that I might not be able to live with the ergonomics, and was surprised that it was hard to get it to turn in.  After finding the steering dampener set on 18 our of 20 clicks, I backed it down to 9 and it turns in fine and then didn't mind the ergos as much.  But I'm trying to find a peg relocating set-up that moves the controls 5.5" forward, but have not been able to connect with the vendor.  I've also read that Centauro controls would work fine, but haven't had enough time to research that one yet.  As for mods, the PO stripped off all the peeling black paint and went with Harley Davidson flat black and that has stuck like glue.  He also modified the windscreen a little.  He added the Mistrial's and the sound is pure sex.  He did the Carbon Fiber rear fender, FBF X-box, heat wrapped the pipes, and re-mapped the FI using a Power Commander (III I think).  I did the Bar-End Mirrors, which work great.  Other than the peg-relocation, I'm not sure what I'll do in the near future, other than a "safe" tank bag.  Any suggestions?  Bob..

  5. ...hello, great looking set-up.  Where did you add the 1" to the foot-shifter?  I've been trying to find a set-up that would move them more forward (about 5.5"), but if I did that, I'd have to make major changes in brake/shifter pedals.  There used to be a vendor that did this, but they're not replying to my e-mails..thanks, Bob..

  6. ...thanks, I knew it was a long-shot.  I'm trying to get a set-up that I found on here (started back in 2006) and the poster actually started making the set-up.  They have a web-site, but hasn't replied to my direct e-mail to that site yet.  I hope they're still doing it.  The kit would move the pegs 5/12" forward, which should greatly help me..

If you ever get this way again, please look me up as I'd love to pick your brain on the Scura.  I've got a couple of questions regarding turn-in and clutch engagement.  Mine engages about 1/4" from full squeeze.  Thanks again, Bob..

  7. ...Wow, what a change!  I'm a recently picked up a Scura (#280) and love it, except for it's killing my knees.  Would you still happen to have the old peg re-location parts, or did you throw them away?  I've been doing some research on various kits and have yet to find one that will move them enough to help.  Do you remember where they ended up (height drop and how far forward) compared to the stock bits?  If you still had them, possibly you could trace them onto a piece of paper and I could have nice ones made up.  Feel free to PM me if you don't want to water down this thread.  I'd also like to pick your brain about the Scura if you had the time.  Thanks, Bob..

  8. ...please add # 280 as being in Colorado Springs, CO, USA.  I picked it up in late September with 11,900 miles on the clock.  Am now trying to figure out how to

lower the pegs.  I love it!  Bob..
