My '85 Le Mans 1000 has been in storage since winter and taking it for it's annual MOT I was having real issues getting up to speed. It started first time on the button as usual and ran up to about 30mph fine but after that I struggled to maintain 40mph especially when any incline appeared in the road. The only clue I have is that a few times during the winter, when I turned the engine over and ran it I think the RH carb flooded and leaked fuel. It needed a tap with a mallet to stop this so I presume the float was sticking. However, I would have thought that the engine should be able to get up to 40mph without too much trouble even if one carb wasn't delivering fuel as it should. Any ideas out there from anyone who has had similar issues on the 850/1000 carburetted models?
Thanks
Gareth
