  1. When I installed these shims a couple of years ago they worked great and then they eventually started to loosen up. I put some high temp sealer on them which worked for a little while and then I lost one of the shims, so Todd sent me another one. But even with the high temp sealant they do not work at all. Any suggestions?

  2. Just in case there is a difference my Speedo is the black face ITI model.

When mine broke I had to disassemble the speedometer to get the broken bits off. After seeing how crappy the stock knob is, I decided to make my own.

    No troubles since.

Cool. Any interest in making more?

  3. I really love the lines of the Sport 1100 so much more but then you hear about the transmission is not as good (5 vs 6 speed) and many think it is easier/better/more comfortable to ride too.

Don't get me wrong because I love how the tranny shifts on my 03 Rosso and the Norge, but there is nothing like the pull from the 5 speed on my Daytona RS.

  4. I'd love to hear an opinion from some one who's actually had one fitted.

A friend of mine has the louder Mistral on his Norge and it sounds great plus it seems to add a little more power compared to my stock Norge. Only problem is the popping at off throttle which is not too bad on the stock bike but quite loud(as in small caliber hand gun loud) with the Mistral. Hopefully, someone will come up with a solution for this problem so until then I will keep with the stock muffler.

  5. A Swedish club patch or some other European Guzzi patch will do nicely. Typically, the humor I intended did not translate.

I will trade you one for one or two for two, whatever you prefer

Blackcat seems to think that my jacket should have a patch that says: "Eat to ride, ride to eat". If only they made one...

What, no Lemmonhead patch? Oh thats right, you had a Monza.

  6. How many do you want?

I'll trade you for the equivalent Swedish patch/patches

It's not necessary for the patch to mention: shaft, rod, piston, stroke, jugs, big twins, I do it with a round head, etc. We are a sedate and modest group here in NYC.

If you can get one that incorporates food in the logo, Dave would be even happier.

  7. I bought my Coppa last November at the 'Aprilia New York' dealer (they also sold Aprilias and Ducatis). I stopped by this weekend and discovered that they have changed their name to 'Ducati New York' and no longer sell Aprilias or Moto Guzzis. Instead they now sell just Ducatis, Triumphs, and MVs.

They also indicated that getting parts and service from them in the future for my MG may be touch and go.

    This sucks!

Last time I was in there the salesman was respectively insulting to Guzzi's so I am not too surprised at this development. They had one good Guzzi mechanic when the place first opened and he has since left the company. FBF or Rockwell are your options.

  8. It's a sight cheaper than a President anyway....... Oh crap, we seem to have one of those now as well...

This is sort of embarassing but I can not seem to find the photo since our recent move out of the city. I just sent off an email to my club partner from back in the day to see if he still has a copy of the picture. Can't imagine that the wife disposed of that classic.......

errr.. anyone good at Fillmore East recently?

    elliotlandyjanis2.jpg

The Filmore East is now an apartment building and the front lobby was turned into a bank. There are some great photo's of the theater in its Bill Graham/Filmore East days and its original creation as a Jewish theater. NY City kept posting signs after sixth st was re-named Bill Graham Way but as soon as they went up they were stolen.

  9. Sniff.....I moved to NYC in 76 to go to art school and lived a couple of blocks away from CBGB's. I got to see Television,Talking Heads,B-52's,Ramones,Pere Ubu,Sid Vicious, etc. and lost some of my hearing in the process. I have a photograph of Wendy-O from the Plasmatics in a clear vinyl dress singing her heart out while squeezing her nipple. Right after that she pulls out a double barell shot gun and empty's the chamber into the ceiling. Scared the shit out me......wild times. Sad to see it go.

  10.

I have been trying to work with another guy in Williamsburg for the past three weeks but he keeps postponing picking up the bike.

Are you talking about Eric(Guzzi Man)? What exactly is the problem with the bike? Your other choice is to

get it up to Branchville Motors or Marsh Cycle in Conn.

  11. But I saw news articles today of New Yorkers and East Coasters at the BEACH.

You do not escape heat by going to the beach..

    Todd,

Normally, I would say that you are right but the water in that part of the Atlantic is so cold that a dip in the water is quite refreshing. Plus, you can escape from the most disgusting smells that one encounters while walking the streets in NYC after a few 95 to 100 degree days. Yuch. :bbblll:

  12.

Grimaldis: Original location under the Brooklyn Bridge. Neopolitan style thin crust. good pizza fresh from the brick oven. Bottom of the pie was soggy necessitating knife and fork. Brooklyn Pilsner in the bottle soothed the saltiness away.

My favorite pizza on this leg of the pizza journey.

  13. That's right. The original price was around 160-170 euro,  i think. when I asked him he already finished the "mass" production and made them for me on demand, basically. it may be then that if you ask him he will make them for you at a similar price.

I would be interested in a set; they look like an easy installation.
