  1. The Stradavarious Moto Guzzi Riders from BC are planning a ride to Washington State on September 6th. We will be meeting up in Abbotsford at the Tim Horton's near the Sumas border crossing and then proceeding to Acme, WA for breakfast. From there the plan is not 100% decided but we expect to ride part of the Cascade Loop. Some people may only want to ride as far as Diablo and then return but several have indicated a desire to go as far as Winthrop and then double back and some may travel the entire loop!

We would like to invite any Moto Guzzi riders from Washington and British Columbia to join us! If we have a large crowd meeting up then I am not sure the little restaurant in Acme could handle us (but their breakfasts are soooo good!!) so we could alternately meet somewhere in Sedro-Wooley but these plans will be revised as we get input from the people who wish to attend!

To find out more you can email us at stradavarious@shaw.ca or access the group site at http://groups.google.ca/group/stradavarious .

We are open to suggestions and alternate routes/meeting places as there are many riders who know these areas better than us!!

How do you register at Stradavarious? No input fields show on my computer?? I am on a Mac but that should not have any affect. I tried other browsers?

  2. Did you lose any external damping adjusters from doing the modification?

Frankly I forgot to ask. The adjusters on the top look the same but whether they do the same I am not sure.

RMR did all the adjustments for me and they are fine.

  3. My 03 v11 sport front end is as hard as nails even at lowest settings. please help!!!!

I recently had RMR Suspensions replace the guts of my Lemans Marz forks with an AK20 rebuild kit and springs from Traxxion Dynamics. This takes a specialist to do this work. The result is excellent - less dive under braking, smoother over bumps. RMR Suspensions is in Canada so likely not an option for those in other countries. The Traxxion kit is available in many places. ^_^

  4. I can join the chorus on the Pirelli Stradas. Great all round tire, big improvement over the stock Bridgestones.

I put on the 170 back tire because the 180 was not part of the 2 for one last year when they were introduced. The 170 has different feel but very acceptable - quicker turn in but feels like the back end is lower.

    Enjoy!

  5. How do you get to the front bolt for the rear shock? Do you have to take off the tank and air box? I just have the front forks rebuilt with a traxxion dynamics kit. Just trying to figure out the rear.

    Many thanks.

  6. I have an 03 v11 Lemans. I want to purchase the Hyper Pro fork springs and ideally the rear shock spring.

Hyper Pro only lists springs for the V11 Sport from 1999 onwards. Would these fit my Lemans?

Mine has the upside down 43mm Marz forks. I thought the Sport may have had 40mm forks. The staff at Hyper Pro say they do not have any idea whether it would fit and then need the dimensions of the springs.

Many thanks from Vernon British Columbia BC.

  7. I want to transport my Lemans on a utility trailer. The manufacturer supplies some good wheel chocks but straps need to be placed to hold the bike up. I can't seem to figure out where is the best place to hook/tie the straps to on the bike? Anyone done this before?

  8. You should tell us about these events before they happen so we can join in.

Will do. I understand the possiblity next year for Sportbike West is a question mark as the police were not too amused about the wheelies and stoppies down the main street that were apparently equal to the stunt show.

I was very impressed with the quality of the back roads around Oliver. Maybe we will have to have a Guzzi or big twin get together not noticeable by the locals.

    Cheers.

  9. Sportbike West in Oliver was great - 400 crazed young sportbikers and me, 57 years old on a 03 Lemans.

First up were BMW test rides. I rode the R1200S Boxer twin and the K1200S. The new Boxer has a great suspension(ohlins), felt very confident in the corners. The motor has a big top end but didn't seem to have the bottom end of my Guzzi. The brake lever feels weird at low speeds but the electronic brakes work great.

The demo rides were at a quick pace - kudos to BMW Canada. The K was very fast, huge power. Frankly though I thought the Boxer was more fun to ride - good bike with character.

After the ride I had my Guzzi suspension setup by Rod at RMR Suspension out of Abbotsford to prepare for the next mornings ride. I had new Pirelli Stradas on my Guzzi. My motor has Power Commander, factory ti cans, Stucchi X-pipe, BMC filter.

There I was with a dozen hot sportbikes ready to ride the fabulous twisties around Oliver - could my Guzzi keep up? I was third in line with a new FZ1 in the lead. After the first fast section, there I was right on the tail of the leaders. The leader said to me and fellow in front of me - I don't have to worry about you guys keeping up. We had left many of the sportbikes including GXR1000's behind. I was pleasantly surpised at how well the Guzzi was handling. The Pirellis were sticking like glue and I never had a bobble in the corners and could keep a tight line. The torque of the Guzzi was getting me out of the corners quick.

Admitly I was probably using more engine than the others but the sweet sound of the Guzzi engine was echoing through the hills. They said I and an older Ducati provided the sound track for the ride.

The Guzzi did me proud. A sweet ride! :race:

  10. I sit up against the gas tank on my 03 Lemans. The paint is getting small scratches from my leathers. Other than polishing the paint, any suggestions on prevention? Are there after market leather bras type gismos available? I like to keep my bike mint.
