  2. there is a thread somewhere on this website that tells how to hook it up! no cutting needed...I hooked mine up very easy! but was wondering why there was no running light the way i hooked it up according to the thread(granted it was 25 degrees outside an I just poped it on with little time to screw with it)??? is that just the way it is?Brian :bier:

  4. Geez, I thought some smartass  :)  would point that out.  What you see is the result from my most recent ride in wet & dirty road conditions - those chicken strips you see are just dry dirt.  The real chicken strips are much skinnier.  Honest.

OK, I take my reputation in my hands by responding to this criticism since protesting too much is usually the sign of guilt.  But alas, I can't help myself (foot in mouth disease).

Also I had a problem with my headlight, horn and brake light not working! thinking that the previous owner changed out the relays recently to the Bosch type= no problem.....wrong....bad relay!!!!! :homer:

  6. Other than a GUzzi dealer? which Fast By Ferracci says they don't have any in stock :bbblll: ?????God only knows why? Is there any other place that might carry these relays? 8. Both SHoei and Arai are great helmets! I have had both! but I agree with a comment made about which one fits you the Best! I rode the Shoei for years than tried on an Arai and man what a difference! because of that elongated design made for a much more comfortable ride for my big noggin!! everyone is different! make sure you try them on!!!!!!!!!! :helmet: Brian anyone else from New Jersey?????

Don't feel bad...I just bought a 2000 v11 sport three weeks ago and it's already broke down on three seperate occasions!!!!!! last the headlight went blank and as of yesterday the battery is flat?????not a happy camper.... :(

  10. BIke does not start at all....but it did start when the headlilght was out..so the starting maybe a completely different problem...after reading through it think it might be the clutch switch---man i've only had this bike three weeks and it's giving me all sorts of problems!!!!! thanks for your help Brian

  11. Hi Brian,

Check the left switch cluster first.  I've had one go bad on me resulting in no headlight.  Sounds similar to yours.  Can't say about the brake light.

Also, check the clutch failsafe switch.  That could cause the bike not to start.  Or the sidestand switch...that one too.

Does the bike turn over, but not start?  Or does the starter even engage?

  12. Went out for what maybe last ride of season yesterday! everythign was great until about 150 mile out!!!! I start noticing that it is hard to engage fourth gear! adn a few more miles down the road I starts popping out of fourth gear when I initially shift?????Then thoughts go through my head about what the recall paper said...may cause injury or death!!!!!! great .....previous owner had the rod and trans recall done...could this be related???? well to top it off...I stop at the pub close to home go in for a pint....come out push start button and bam fires right up!!!! smile ride off...then notice my highbeam indicator is not working nor the horn..or brake light or front headlight.?????get home...check fuses ok switch relays around..nothing...bike still started everytime....until the last time....now it won;t start at all>>>I'm starting to understand why I got this bike so cheap!!!!!!!!I guess i should pull the tank off and check alll the connections under there!! any other ideas for either of these problems? thanks Brian

  13. My ignition switch became loose after 400miles of new ownership//////I cant find a wrench to fit them????? I mean I can..but you can't tighten them when the receed into the hole?????? what the hell......how do you tighten these bolts......maybe I should sober up and take a look??????????? :bier: thank you for everone who has answered my questions!!!!! thsi site is great!!!!!!!!!!!!!stilll love the Guzzi!!!! even though it's giving me few problems!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
