  1. Well, I haven't posted in a while, and it was mostly good - I installed my Roper Plate with no negative consequences, the valve adjustment seemed to have cut down (though, not eliminated) the odd misfire I was getting, and I thought I had it all sorted.

Until I hit the brakes too hard on a freeway off-ramp and high-sided the LeMans at 15-20mph. More than anything else, I was embarrassed to make such a mistake, and injured my shoulder in the process, but worse yet, I pranged up the Guzzi a bit, too.

All of my damage is on the left side, an was mostly cosmetic. But I need parts, some of them are a bit obscure and not available with aftermarket replacements.

Shops like Bikebandit have online fiche readers that allow you to collect all of the parts numbers one needs for nearly every Japanese motorcycle you can find... but I can't find a similar resource for Moto Guzzis... I'd just like to get an idea of what the stuff would cost before I bring a parts list to the local dealer (Leo's South in Lakeville, MN).

And just in case you're curious, here's what I'll need:

New bar-ends (I'd like heavier ones if possible...)

Engine guards - the left one was shattered in the crash.

Upper sump assembly - the bolt that holds the lower part of the sidestand ripped out, shattering its casing. So the entire upper sump needs to be replaced. This is the worst damage of any of it. I couldn't imagine it's cheap, either... :(

    Left-side spark plug wire

Left-side passenger peg mount (it's bent in, so the muffler doesn't hang right on it anymore)

Left-side muffler (not sure if I want to replace this yet or not...)

    Left-side rear turn signal stalk

New side stand bolt that contacts the sidestand switch (was ground off) and screw that mounts the sidestand into the sump

Overall, it crashed well - the rash on the left side of the fairing and the sump bit are the most visible damage... I'd have preferred to not have crashed it at all, though.

  6. Hi All,

I have a 2001 V11 Sport and have been running Redline Heavy Duty Shockproof synthetic gear oil in my rear differential housing. The bike has about 20,000 miles on it. The lube is leaking past the seals and dripping on the rear rim after having been in there for the last 12 months. I've checked the vent/fill hole and it is not plugged up. I am preparing to replace the seals but wonder if this is related to the lube, or would've happened even with the stock moly lube. Anyone else have a similar experience with the Redline stuff?

    Thanks in Advance,

    Corey Levenson

    San Antonio TX

Its your cover seal in the diff housing leaking my had to be replaced along with the rear transmision seal at a little past 40k 02 lemans its better to have your dealer do it .

  7. sorry about puting the question in the spot. torque arm bushings on my 02 lemans or shot front and rear the dealer said guzzi only sells the whole arm not just the bushings i dont need the whole arm($) will the bushings from a R11rt fit they look very close to guzzi size??????

  8. my front and rear torque arm bushings are shot . and guzzi will sell you a new arm NOT THE BUSHINGS BUT THE WHOLE THING. i just want just the bushings the arm is fine. any one have any ideas the bmw dealer thinks ones from a r11rt will work .????? 2002 v11 lemans 43.000 k

  9. i jusit came back from a week in the black hills(sturigs) i could smell gear oil looked around and found it leaking from the rear of trans where the drive shaft mounts to trans 43k on it is that seal hard to replace or a trip to dealer for this one ? its not pouring out just makes amess of the rear wheel rim only not tire:

  10. Darryl, you can buy replacement Schraeder valves.  They thread into the stem externally.  No need to take the stem out!  May I recommend a Schraeder valve tool.  You can get the valves and valve caps with the tool molded into the cap at any auto parts outlet.

the same thing happen to me 02 lemans went to my dealer judson cycle sales (the best) put in a set of bmw stainless steel ones NOMORE valve trouble

  11. Helllo,

My turn signal lamp went out on my 2004 V11 Ballabio.  :luigi: I remove it and went to  2 auto parts stores and to my Moto Guzzi dealer and nobody has a turn signal lamp that would fit. The pins on the lamp are at 130 degrees not like most lamps that are at 180. So I found a lamp that was 10 amps(anything lower then 10 amps the turn signal flasher will not work) and ground down one of the pins and it works. But it's white and a little to large. I hope it will not melt my trun signal lens. :huh2:

The Dealer said they will order them for the Factory. But that could take a long time.

  17. Hello Guzzies,

    Nothing that important.

But, between the manual's and the forum.

I've always wondered just how far my v11 would

go on a full tank of gas (From the brim to thats all folks!).

Well, tonight I finally answered that question.  Luckly on

    home turf.

I last filled up on the East-side of the Ortaga High with Todd, Warren,

and Rich heading home, post the  Moto Euro West rally.  My faithful

steed has been parked ever since in the garage after making it home.

On a quick blast around the "Hood" for some Coffee, I found out just how

far MY V11SPORT will go between pit stops... 139.6 miles.

No farther, no less.  I now know because at every fill up during the

rally we'd all re-set our Trip-Om just to judge our way about.

So know I now, ya-hoo!  I'm glad it happened local and I could call one of

my "five minute away" riding buddies for some gas.  I do wish how ever

it WASN"T in front of my favorite espresso bar.

    As an after thought...

    How come I didn't get any "Air-Bubbles" or "Vacume-Lock" in my F.I???

    Oh well, just thought I'd share.  139.6      139.6    139.6...

    THATS GOOD TO KNOW.

    Peace, rubbersidedown,

    Jedione68

P.S.   YES, the gas light came on once or twice, but for the last

10 miles or so and post "No" gas... THE LIGHT WAS GONE!!!
