  1. Anything Joe Kenny makes is perfect!

Thanks everyone! Man, you guys's help really make a guy feel better about a bad situation.

Mine did break right in the middle of the whole thing. (it was cracked from where I was hit from behind, at a stop light.....by my wife, who was suppose to be following me and watching out for me, because my brakelight was out) Personally..i think its the insurance shes after. jk

    Thanks again everyone!

  2. I too am interested in the seat. What kind is it? I need a new one, and I read that the corbin does not fit. Is that true?

    Where did you get yours?

    Thanks,

    Michael

PS. A single tear swelled up in my eye when I saw the wreckage...my sympathy.

    Hello all,

I am getting ready to part out our low mileage 02 Lemans. It has gooned forks and fairing. But the motor and trans and all the odd bits are 10K miles perfect condition. This bike made 85 rwbhp, and shifted like the best jap bike. My question is, should I sell the engine with the throttle bodies, ECU and PCIII, should I sell the front brakes as calipers, braided cables and master cylinder or as a set. etc, etc, etc, or piece them out. If interested, I will post a comprehensive list of the parts available prior to ebaying them. As the gent who crashed it paid me for it, he will be included in any monies obtained.

    Thanks for any feedback,

    Jon

    After

Sell the engine with everything intact.

The bits and pieces, if you sell them all separately, you will be waiting a while to get rid of everything.

What is the story on the custom seat? If it is in one piece, i may be interested.

The rich maund seat is in new condition, it was only a couple of weeks old and incurred no damage

  3. Ok, anyone have any idea on this one?

I took my taillight out, cause it wasnt working. Took it to the dealer, ordered new one, and reassymbled it. I also took out my brake handle to get a new one. I caught the "little ball' and didnt know where it goes. Now my brake light wont turn off?

    WTF?

Does the little ball have something to do with this?

    Thanks,

    Michael Jordan

  4. Thanks for all replies - turns out the ball was still where it should be but completely coated in grime - a few squirts of ye old WD-40 and all is well again ...

The ball on my switch fell out, now my brake light stays on...is this related?

    Thanks,

    Michael

  5. Thanks for the reply. I had the shift linkage all apart last year when I replaced my starter. It went back together well-lubed. But you are correct: check the simple stuff first. I'll have abother look at the linkage and go from there.

Worst case senario , There is a guy in Kentucky that makes them, with high quality metal, that I replaced mine with a few years ago, and havent had any problems. It cost me something like 15 dollars, Instead of the 50+ the dealership wanted.

His info is in this forum, if you search for Pawl Spring Replacements. Best of luck.

  6. I have to "wiggle the bars" quite frequently to get my '02 LeMans to start otherwise a press of the start button yields nothing! All of my relays are original.

    Hello Mate.

I have had the same problem last week. Living in NW florida yeilds me no dealer around for about 5 hrs. I consulted the knowledgable people on this site and I can tell you they are almost always right.

Your problem most likely is the bullet connectors under the tank. It takes about 1 hr at most to disassmble and reassymble everything. On this site you'll find a photo of the connectors you are looking for. I was fortunate enought to just have to grease them and tighten their connection.

As a saftey precaution, replace your relays under your seat with ones from either any car part store, (take in the old ones) or call or email Dan Prunuske dan@dpguzzi.com. He sells the correct ones for a really fair price.

Have you changed your pawl spring yet? That is another problem I recently experienced with my 02 V11 that happens to be really common with our bikes.

If you need one,....and you will...email me and I will look up the place in Missiouri that makes them for $12.00 and sends them to you ASAP. It beats waiting on Guzzi to get around to it.

    Best of luck,

    Michael Jordan.

    And look at www.dpguzzi.com

  7. Hello everyone. I have found this site due to the problems that I have had with my 02 lemans.

I bought the bike used, with just over 4k miles on it. Unfortunately, every problem discussed in the forum has happened to my bike. I have just replaced the shifter pawl spring, the boss and now it wont start.

I read about switching from the Siemens V23073 relays to the Bosch relays..but where do I find them? And what are the Bosch called? Are they all the same, just make sure the amps are the same?

Thanks for the help, I really appreciate all the info you guys give!

  9. Well put, Windchill. Like you say it's a case of differing perspectives.

Keep yer chin up,it'll get sorted out.

I dont necessarily disagree with you, but whilst MG may be part of a huge combine, I get the feeling that investment from Aprilia wasn't as great as has been touted, remember that Aprilia was haemorraging money into motogp at the time. I certainly dont see any great improvement in quality control from the Daytona/ Sport1100 days.Maybe I'm wrong.

And they're Italian after all. You can excuse a lot for the way it looks and goes. Well, I can. Perfection? Pah! Gimme a few flaws any day.

That said, if it looked like the Breva, I'd have driven my truck over it by now.

As a new V11 owner, whos freakin' pawl spring broke on day two of owning the used biek with 4,200 miles on it, HAVE WE THOUGHT OF A CLASS A ACTION LAWSUIT against Guzzi?
