  1. I am still trying to find the number of my Tenni, when I brought it the plate was missing and the original dealer who sold it from new has no record of it's number. I guess as my bike was purchased new in Scotland the plate number is either 114, 116 0r 166. Was it ever discovered if MG tracked the plate numbers against the frame/engine number?

    Thanks

    Rick

    Hi Rick

  2. Hi

    I rode my friends 18000mile scura the other day,it has carbon oval mistrals but no other mods it was great,very responsive and no hiccups at all and the sound is awesome and ive managed to persuade him to buy the factory titanium system so i can have the mistrals ,what a great friend.Once the titanium kit arrives i shall fit it for him and test ride it and see if the pinking is gone.The pinking is less than on my bike which has standard silencers.I shall report if the ecu in the kit makes any difference.

  3. Hi All

    I changed the rear wheel bearings on my Tenni at 2000 ish miles got replacement from local bearing factor £26 pair.I didnt tighten the nut to a specific torque just went by feel,if the spacer is too small and the wheel nut is too tight then you are pulling the inner races toward each other whilst the outer races are held by the machined housing in the wheel therefore pulling the inner and outer races out of line [not good] .If the spacer is too short i suggest fitting a shim to make it right and tighten the wheel nut to a lesser torque if there is a resistance to turning[of wheel] when you tighten the wheel nut then the spacer is too small and your bearings wont last.If the spacer was perfect[er this is a guzzi] then the bearing would stay in line and you could tighten the nut till the cows come home and the wheel would spin freely.The spacer is a cheap bit of tubing not a precision machined part maybe getting a machine shop to make up something better would be a good idea and not having those flanges on the tube would allow the bearings to be drifted out much easier.

    sorry this is so long [yawn snore etc]

    Regards Martin

  4. Hey

    I did the national rally last weekend 5/6 july and the Tenni was perfect i rode 760miles in 24 hours the bike was comfortable,economical[44mpg] fastish,sweet handling great to look at[lots of compliments at check points and fuel stations etc and of course absolutly nothing went wrong :wub:.i drilled the silencers before the trip and am pleased with the extra music and as the engine is running so well i guess the bike likes the music to.

  5. Hey Cliff

    Scott has the Ti system on his bike so it should have a new ecu with the correct map.Might be worth checking fundamentals like synchronising throttle bodies and tappets maybe.

  6. Hey Al

    Sorry to be a bore but i dont think its a good idea to wrap insulation around the pump that will stop the pump from loosing heat out through the casing.Fuel pumps should be out in the breeze or inside the tank where the petrol keeps it cool.If you look at the pic i put on the other[Tenni pump loc]thread you will see that even though the pump is out front as far from the engine as poss it still has a heatshield between it and the engine. 7. Hey

    A Tenni and a Scura that i know of have had 2 springs each go in the first 2000 miles but my Tenni has 2400mileswith no problem with the spring of course ive just had to replace the rear wheel bearings so maybe the factory fitted duff bearings instead of a weak spring just so i would appreciate the character bike i ride :lol:

  8. Hi

    The gearbox shift return spring that often breaks.Aprilia have an upgraded one available but you have to ask for it specificaly utherwise you will just get another inferior spring from Guzzi.

  9. Hi All

    Have to report the first failure on my Tenni,the honeymoon is over i guess.At 2300m the rear wheel bearing[disc side] failed i was alerted to it by drive train chatter like you get if riding at too high a gear at low speeds ,anyway although the bike is in warranty[2months old] the supplying dealer is about to close down and the next nearest is about an hour away so i did it my self, the new bearings came from a local supplier cost£25 for the pair.Ive done 100miles tonight down to poole and all seems ok but i will probably buy a couple of spares and maybe that Apriala moded gearbox spring,just in case.

  10. Hey Buddy

    Ive decided to keep it as standard for a while then empty the standard xover and when funds permit get the guzzi ti system.The bike seems to be getting better all the time after 2000 miles it no longer stalls but its quieter than i would like and any extra power is always welcome so i hope i can afford it soon.

  11. Hey

    the pump on my Tenni sits at the front by the horns,same as my Centauro never had fuel vapourisation problems with either bike so location of pump seems ok .Changing the pumps loc must be a lot cheaper than new tank with inbuilt pump.

  12. Hey

    I wonder if he got the design and length of tubing tuned on a rolling road no xover or pc i presume,but if it was parked and it rained would the exhaust fill up could be fun when it gets started again and is that a noose in the background maybe he got hung for his crimes :D

  13. Hey Buddy

    Glad to hear :D you are enjoying the new exhaust are you using a standard xover.I live in a blue rinse area so i will probably have the old bill feeling me collar if my bike makes too much music but i shall be going the new exhaust route soon.

    Regards Martin

  14. Hi David

    Thanks for the reply it seems that what ever i do to the exhaust,im gonna need a pc so it might make more sense to buy that first.In a couple of weeks my employer will be giving me a laptop that is designed to plug into car diagnostic sockets to interigate the ecu for faults etc i may be able to do a remap of the bikes ecu with it so possibly that will be preferable to the power commander especialy at uk prices.

    I have tried to download your movie files but my aol media player pops up and no download, :food: thanks again.

    Regards Martin :thumbsup::mg:

  15. Hey

    i got a reply to my price enquiry from a local supplier for the G&B EXH only £995 ,so that idea is out of the window being an Englishman means haveing rip me off written on my forehead laugh.Ok wheres my drill im gonna put some holes in my exhaust and save a grand.

    regards Martin :(:not::bbblll:
