  1. 2000 V11 green/red frame for sale in central Connecticut. The sweetest looking V11 IMO!

Nearly perfect condition, 18k miles. Teckno bags, matching Stucci windscreen, new Metzler Z6 tires, PCIII, CRG bar end mirrors, verlicchi (sp?) clip ons, Pork chops have not discolored. Just a gorgeous, sweet-running first year V11 Sport.

    $4500 firm. PM if interested.

  2. Recently picked up a pristine 1996 1100 Sport, and I really love it. Thinking of selling my equally pristine 2000 V11 Sport (green/red frame) in favor of keeping just the 1100 Sport (well, not true, I also have an EV...).

    Your thoughts? Keep both?

If I do sell it, it's in Connecticut and it truly is beautiful and runs about flawlessly (occasional FI miss). Rich Maund seat, matching Stucchi chin fairing, PCIII, CRG hind Sight mirrors, other than that it is bone stock and the porkchops never pinked down. If anyone is interested speak up.

I am interested though in the what you think of keeping the 96 and selling the 2000. I don't know, the '96 is a bit more of a chore to ride but what an awesome machine!

    Thanks all!

  3. Thanks Ratchet, I tell ya I'm no mechanic but I've never seen machines with so many frozen, cheesy fasteners. I love the Guzzis but it does get frustrating. I just took the centerstand off my EV; what should have been a 5 minute job became a 30 minute wrestlemania swearfest because one of the nuts was frozen solid to the pivot bolt. Friggin A, I finally got it off but it was almost a Herculean effort.

I do think it's worth the effort to go through as much of the bike as possible and remove and re-torque as many fasteners as you can reasonably access, and use a bit of anti-sieze paste with each.

  4. Todd at MPH came thru with flying colors on the oil cooler brackets - GREAT customer service from those folks. But on a sour note, I bodged one of those cheesey hex screws that attaches the cooler to the bracket - the side with the rubber grommet/washer piece - I believe I had the correct size hex key too - but one pretty easy attempt at a turn chewed up the screw pretty well! Appears to be very soft metal.

What is the easiest way to deal with that? I'm not going to try to turn it any further. I'll have to order new fasteners for sure. Bodge!!!!!!! :bbblll:

  5. I also went to the 160 rear in a Metzler M6 and the bike handles MUCH better... I love the M6 and the 160 on my 2000 V11 was the right move. Thanks to many on this forum for the heads-up on that. :bier:

  6. these don't look to be a big problem to make a few out off sheet steel?

Yours are the alu ones? newer ones are steel.

Yes Paul mine are on the 2000 V11 the tennis ball green one - the best of al the V11s! :rasta:

  7. Curious - I like to change my oil last thing before storing my bike for the winter, but a mate of mine suggests that oil should be changed first thing in the spring, and there is no harm leaving rather dirty (2500 miles?) oil in the sump all winter. I would think that could be corrosive. What say you? Thanks folks.

  8. I need new skins on my 2000 V11 Sport. If I go with 160/60 on the rear, should the front remain the factory specifed size? So only the rear changes to a narrower width?

I'm thinking of Dunlop D220s - there is so much discussion of tires on this site it's hard to get a feel for which is preferred - but for those who have run 220's, how do you like them? for wear and traction?

    Thanks!

  9. I wasn't the person to mount the Tecknos (SP?) bags on my bike so I'm wondering - how do you remove the spacer on the upper rack mounting point immediately below the seat? It's about an inch long... I removed the long bolt but the spacer seems frozen to the bike... was wondering how it was originally installed before I munge it forever more... I'm removing the bags for now. Many thanks!

  10. Hi Fernando, I did not mean to imply you were not honest - I just wondered if anyone else had heard this news. I am very fond of Marsh Motorcycles, and I'm sure this cannot be good news for them as 3 MG dealers in CT is probably one too many. Maybe Branchville will feel the pinch, I don't know. I do know that the folks at Canton are very nice and honest as I dealt with them for years as a BMW rider. Perhaps this is good news that such a good dealer as Canton can be enticed into selling Guzzis, I just hope it doesn't drive Al at Marsh out of business. Fernando, I'll have to look up that website you mention as I'm always looking for fellow riders in CT! :bier::helmet:

Fernando, a quick Google search turned up nothing... what is the URL for your site??? I wish to join. Thanks!

  11. >

Is this true? Can anyone else confirm?

the goose is a very special motorcycle.

i would have never sold or actually traded mine in had it not been for what has been reported on this thread.

    i just love that bike,

but, when i called ,back in july, 4 dealers ,and anoutside guzzi parts supplier and they all told me that very simple fuel pump was in back order and 2 dealers told me that they could not tell me when it would come in ,i then thought of the other potential problems in the pipeline ,and had no other recourse .

also, i understand that the v11 is no longer being made ............well, the norge is a v11 ,so maybe there can be parts available in the future.

and ,i met a dealer in canton conn. ,canton cycles ,a bmw dealer who gave up his bmw dealership and is now taking over vespa and guzzi.

who knows what will happen ?

  12. Hi all, I was wondering if anyone here has experience with replacing just the stock crossover with a Stucci or FBF crossover, and leaving the stock pipes in place - what can I expect for performance gains, if any? I have a PC III already installed on the bike now - 2000 V11 Sport. It runs wel, though seems a tad lean at times with the occasional stumble. Can i expect improved midrange? Thanks in advance... :mg:

  13. I love that Rosso Mandello red.... The RM would be gorgeous with a silver engine like the 00's had.

Somewhat on topic, i was wondering if the carbon fiber tank chin pad fit the '00 red frames with the padded pad? I would like one to replace my current chin pad, which has gotten somewhat weathered looking.

If so, are the CF pads currently available from Guzzi??? Thanks all...

  14. Thanks for the comments on the color match - if this had to be re-painted it would make it a very expensive piece. Sure looks great on the bike though - fits the V11l ines beautifully, IMO. Anyway, FYI, this is from Magni's most recent email reply:

The complete V11 faring kit include:

    - fairing painted in the original color

    - wind screen

    - head light holder and all fixing necessary for fit on the frame

    - new set of handlebars

    - mirrors

Don't need any modification to the original frame.

The new handlebars are a little lower then the originals.

Our fairing kit is designed to offer a wind protection for rider and encrease the handling of the bike.

The retail price of the kit is Euro 725,00 and trasnport expenses Euro 210,00 door to door to your address

  15. Well, apparently they CAN supply the fairing paint-matched in my slime green

... I replied to their reply concerning cost... so now, I wonder if it is

    - worth it - it must be over a grand... that's a lot of dough, but I DO love the look.

    and...

    - i've read it's a complete pain in the keister to mount it. I wonder just how bad. Anyone here with experience mounting a Magni???

  16. The Magni website still lists the fairing for the V11. I sent them an email about availability but no word back yet. Does anyone know if they are still produced??? That is one sweet looking fairing. Would look very nice on my green sport. Thanks.

PS, how about the MG titanium cans with ECU??? Anyone know if those are still backordered?

  17. Thanks all for your informative replies. I scraped the crud off my x-over and went for a high speed blast, came back and sure enough there was a frsh drip - wiped it up with my finger, took a whiff and sure enough it appears to be tranny oil. So my next question - is replacing that seal a major or minor task? Thanks for your help on this. You guzzi guys RULE!! :bier::mg:
