  1. Getting kind of creaky, so I'm reaching for the EV keys most of the time. 2002 Tenni #112 looking for a new home. 23,997 miles. I am the second owner, bought it in 2007 with 6k miles. PO did Ferracci tuned PCIII set up for the Mistral X-over & C-F oval mufflers, C-F front fender side covers rear hugger and tank pad plus expensive aluminum aftermarket pegs & controls. I have added a Roper plate, edge guards, Buell mirrors and bar risers. Included are suede seat & GPR stainless 2-into-1 exhaust. Pics on request. Asking $4500

  2. I have an '02 V11, 22k miles (got it with 6k). Tweaked the shifting 2 years ago to remedy false neutrals on upshift, no troubles since then. Redline heavy in gearbox. Went out yesterday & several times could not upshift. Rocking the gearbox with the throttle & fussing with the shifter would restore upshift (downshift always worked). I'm going to pull the selector cover & have a look. Would welcome any suggestions. Thanks,

  3. The local bike shop is starting to see plastic-tanked Guzzis (and some Ducatis) with deformation and swelling from the crap gasoline being sold. Caswell Plating (www.caswellplating.com) offers a phenol novolac sealer that looks as if it's right for the job. I will probably give it a try this winter. If anyone has tried this or any other treatment and had good results, please respond.

  4. The Mistral carbon fibre slipons on my 2002 Tenni have grown annoyingly loud in the past year. I suspect that the packing has been destroyed by exhaust pulses over the years. Have any of you rebuilt your Mistrals? Any help with materials & procedures greatly appreciated.

  5. I have seen a ton of threads on this forum where people are suggesting buying new Ohlins, Penskes or whatever to replace the crap stock shocks on their V11 Sport. On Ebay, or CL, etc. I see lots of piggy back shocks. Does anyone know what other bikes use the same size and specs shockas the one for our Guzzis? For instance, is our shock the same as the Ducati 998 or GSX-R or something like that? May just need a longer hose line or different size eyelets. I have been scouring all used bike shops and every site to find a replacement where I don't have to spend 1000$. Help please. I know someone has the answer.

One thing to be aware of in your search is that I'm pretty sure that the shaft drive joints limit the length of shock you can use so you must stay within the Ohlins specs(10mm longer than Sachs IIRC ?) for total length and range of movement.

good luck, I'm sure many here will be interested if you find a match !!

Ahh. I get you. Well, lets hope. I am going to a bike bone yard soon and look through their stuff. Just need something to tide me over until I can save enough for a great Ohlins.

Try Reboot Guzzi spares for a used one. I've had good experience with them.

  6. These came as package deal with some risers I really wanted & I don't expect that I will ever use them. (the good): tekno bags & mounts for v11 + spare mounting hardware. (the bad):previous owner glued naugahide to them for waterproofing /appearance. I have removed it but ample evidence of the adhesive remains. I am looking for shipping cost + some consideration for packing & schlepping costs.Pictures on request

  7. Please describe the noises. Gearbox whine underway and clutch rattle in neutral are normal as far as I know. I'm partial to Razee's as they are very near my house in RI & I have dealt with them for 30+ years of BMWs,Ducati & Moto Guzzi. You're not that far away (I'm in North KIngstown, RI), so if you want to arrange a meet to check the bike out, let me know

  8. Yes, they were supplied with spacers of about two inches for the top front mount. Many of us found they were too long and shortened them. Mine are now one inch and hold the bags close and level. They are just mild steel tube stock.

Thanks for the quick reply. What do you use to protect the footpeg/muffler bracket?

    Thanks again,

  9. Hi all!

I just got a set of used Tekno bags which had been fitted to a 2002 LeMans. I have tried holding the brackets in various positions without satisfaction. The one which seems closest is upper front to outside of front passenger peg bracket, lower front to inside of muffler mount and rear stay to license plate light bolt inside rear mudguard. The geometry looks right, but results in the top rail contacting the seat base. Did Tekno provide spacers which I am missing (or am I missing something else?). Any Tekno owners out there who can offer advice/photos, I would appreciate it. These are going on an '02 Tenni if that makes any difference.

    Thanks,

    Mark

  10. Hi all Tenni owners.I have #159 in Italy near Mandello(30 Kms).Ciao

  11. I don't understand where these jokers get ideas. The use of leather is a by product of the meat industry and is quite green, otherwise we would just be dumping this leather in landfill. At Aero Leathers we use front quarter horse hide, these horses all die from natural causes so it is a very green product, the jackets are designed to last at least your lifetime and hopefully longer, they can be repaired at the factory and horse hide is waterproof. Compare this to the man made fibers that they wear these are all a by product of the oil industry which is by far one of the most unenvirormental industries in the world, where is the argument now.

Has anyone ever ever directly encountered any of these "jokers"? Absent hard evidence, I believe that they must be "strawmen" (sort of a political unicorn, but better). Given hard evidence, I will reconsider.
