  2. hi

first bike ride at 11 years old was a guzzi. i fell off ,hurt knee and hand ,owner of the bike laughed till he saw the broken clutch lever . i was hooked .36 years later i have one , always from about 15 years old kept 1 or 2 bikes or more ,never bought a guzzi because you just don't see them around ,not a lot of dealers around the places that i have lived . after buying the v11sport i did wonder what i have bought after the first ride ,the previous owner had only done 400 miles in 2 years . after riding a aprilia tuono the guzzi felt terrible , stiff and stood up off throttle .emmmm checked the tyre pressures ,the front had 15 pounds in it the back had 19 pounds .. pumped up and then got a huge grin again after taking for a spin . adjusted the bars and levers . now i am really pleased with it ,new set of tyres soon and it will feel better still .so to cut it short a very underrated machine. :)

  3. They are not showing Rac...already sold? Let me know and my friend will work a deal with you if you still have them so you don't have to deal with Ebay.

  6. hi phil p

the insurance company's will do their best to wriggle out of any claim , most will insure if not performance enhancing, with baffles . can't see what all the fuss is over after all a standard r1 with standard exhaust will thrash the pants of a guzzi with race everything :notworthy: . they have insured one of my bikes , termis not allowed on the policy :bbblll: . they are on but they have no insurance :notworthy: . bikes insured but exhaust aren't ..... what a laugh eh .

  8. hi all

one week has passed ,poor bike has been wet twice already , it has never seen rain by the looks of it in 4 years , if fact it has only 3200 miles on it ,4600 now ,400 this week burning to work and a few spins . the linkage i oiled 1st day i got it ,to light footed for my own good . poor old blighty is a bit dismal for a month or two now ,rain and more rain . next clean for the bike is april ,emmm . it is lagged in oil now , motor 20/50 ,not the thin type ,it is a extremely salt environment where i live ,few hundred yrds to the beach , has its downfalls ,(RUST). another trick waxoyl in a tin. rust inhibitor ,nasty sticky poo poo ,but it works . nightmare to get off .anyway nuff of this banter , thanks .. rac

  9. hi all

thanks for the response on the mpg ,so to round it up 35 to 40 to a gall or 9 per litre. as for the fuel warning light ,you can take a chance with it then , maybe it will work or maybe it won't .emmm . think i will try for a few weeks by just putting enough to go to work and back 40 mile round trip . quite nice not to have a full tank of fuel sloshing around beneath you .bike is a lot lighter too to move about in tight spots . thanks again .rac .

  10. hi all

how many miles to a gall . 4 .5 litres.

been using the trip . with the fuel light just starting to come on put 5 litres in done 42 miles and its starting to come on again ,it started to glow going up a hill as soon as it leveled out it went out . do this fuel lights on the mg's stay on bright when it starts to get real empty. reserve is 5 litres ?. cheers rac .
