  1. I make it down to NC for the Guzzi Rally and another trip with some local guys from Cincy every September right after Labor Day, but have never made the spine raid. I told him about the site....he is an old guzzi guy with currently a Mille GT and some other cool bits. He even had a MZ Scorpion Race Replica that he still races....pretty cool.

Now time to start shopping for a replacement to mess in some dirt!

  2. I am placing my V11 Greenie up for sale. This bike is located in Cincinnati, Ohio. It currently has right under 12k miles.

The updated parts on the bike:

Termi exhaust with the Moto Guzzi race ecu installed.

Seat redone with added foam and sorted much more comfortable

    Converted to LSL superbike bars

New fork seals and Race Tech .095 springs - fork oil replaced

    1" Buell peg conversion

Aprilia sport mirrors and bar ends

    Transmission mount installed

    Puig windshield installed

    Superwhite headlight bulb

New rear caliper and rotor - was warped when I bought the bike

All fluids changed - spline lube and driveshaft greased

Bike runs great and is ready to go! I have a Stelvio, Griso and 1100 sport. I selling to buy a 650 dual sport that I can do some more off road with that is lighter than the Stelvio.

  4. Ideally no, but this will vary with temperature. Some earlier post indicated a new spacer is about 0.5 mm longer than the space between the seats. I have no idea if that is overkill but I assume it doesn't hurt.

If the spacer is long enough, there is no side load!

Ordered the bearings yesterday and try to get the old bearings out tomorrow and get some measurements....it looks like the spacer is loose between the bearings now, but I would think it needs to be a little loose to get the axle to slide through..then tight when you tighten the axle nut. The tires were replaced when I bought the bike and maybe the overtighten the axle nut?

  5. Some people would say that the exact supposed size of YOUR spacer is only known by measuring YOUR wheel and adding a couple of tenths of millimeters. While that is a bit over-exaggerated it will give you the answer with certainity, no matter what.

So there should be no play at all?

  6. Just took my rear wheel off and the inner rear wheel bearing is toast! Did some searching on here last night but was not able to locate any cross reference numbers to maybe find one local?

I did find out one of the major culprits is the spacer? I think from reading here, it is suppose to measure 113 mm? Does anone have any pics of this assembly?

What is the easiest method for removing the bearing itself (puller or drifting)

    Thanks for the help.....

  7. No amount of carbon fibre will make up for the fact that unless it has already been done it will be horribly under-sprung. Spend money on the superb forks and shocks before wasting it on CF.

    Pete

I agree with Pete on this fact...just picked up my Scura to this year and had a Rosso before that. The forks and shocks are way under sprung and I am only around 200 lbs. I just purchased front and rear Ohlins for my BMW R1100RS and what a difference to have them sprung properly. Will be sending them the parts from the Scura to update next.

Welcome to the world of Guzzi......what is everyone using to polish the titanium cans?

  8.

Had the same battery fail on me....Only after a couple years! It ended up being on of the nipplies come off under the cover and let the acid leak out. The design of these batteries I believe is not that great especially for the money involced and the special charger needed. I took it back to my local Odyssey dealer and he was like never seen that before???? I am not so sure about this one. Bought another one and ended up selling that bike. Bought a Scura this year and still has the original bettery from 2002 and works flawlessly....I want another Guzzi battery next time

  9. I am selling a Rossopuro V11 tail eliminator. This is the one the has LED brake lights that also act as tail lights with the resistor. It also has a license plate light that goes with it, but I upgraded mine with the custom dynamics LED plate lights for a better look and function. This would be $100 shipped in the continental US. This will clean up the rear of the bike. I upgraded to the tail tidy from another forum member and why for sale....please PM for any further information.

    Thanks,

    Woody

  10. Pit Bull makes an extra wide rear swingarm stand that will fit the V11 and is very well built.

Which one is this? I talked to them and they said nothing they had went that wide....

    Thanks for the info
