  1. Could you better define "stuff"? If you are talking about a complete bike it's one thing -and not the easiest one, I fear- but if you only need some spares it might be different....

Also, which part of Italy? I live up north and have contacts with shipping/forwarding agents, maybe can help.

  2. Funny....I didn't visit this site in months and today I felt I just had to give a look...right on time to add my name on the list.smiley-eatdrink004.gif

Yes, the total number of 18 is correct.

I first knew about "R"s reading some of your posts on the AnimaGuzzista Forum, and then saw one live-in-person on display at Guzzi dealer Millepercento (that one is in the owner's personal collection).

I wasn't looking for a V11, never even had a sports bike before...but a few days later I unexpectedly noticed a sale ad on a french site and....booooom!

I brought her back home (see my location... ;) ) in October 2010 from a little village in the region of Sarthe, near Le Mans. She was first registered in France on Dec.1st 2005; I'm the 4th and hopefully the last owner, bought her with 17,000 Km on the clock and have just turned 32,000. Some shots of her can be seen in the "Pictures" topic, the day I drove her to the Nest. :race:

Waiting for the registry to go on, I can happily add a freshly discovered one: another R resides 10 km from my hometown, ridden by the original owner since 2006.

Notice: for significantly rare bikes, I'd rather avoid to publish frame numbers in full on the Net...even the factory itself only discloses this kind of information upon specific and motivated request, in the wrong hands these data could be used to build fakes/counterfeits. :2c:

  3. The original Scuras had single plate clutches, but the ScuraR is just another repainted Café Sport, just like the Coppa Italia, but now with an ugly red saddle. 99.99% sure that the ScuraR doesn't have the infamous single plate clutch.

OK.......... I think I ould like to have one for my stable..... any chance of one making it to my part of this rock in Canada.

    Regards. :food:

I will not say that CaféSport are common, but they're not impossible to find either.

Coppa are rarer but they show up sometimes on eBay.com or on the MGNOC marketplace.

Things change if you are willing to face an international transaction (and shipping); just to give you an idea, on a single italian site there are 1 Coppa, 4 Café and 8 Scura for sale right now.

Honestly a ScuraR is almost impossible to find. The one mentioned by AdminJaap in the topic "How many was made?" lasted for sale about 10/15 days; surprisingly, the very same bike appeared a couple of months later, with the new owner explaining in the ad that he was "unable to establish the right feeling" or something like that. Three or four days and it was gone again, this time for good.

Try keeping an eye on sites like www.subito.it, annunci.ebay.it, www.mobile.de and www.leboncoin.fr; if there's a chance that one comes up for sale again, it will probably happen there.

    Good luck... :P:

I can add the missing 0.01%

  5. Eighteen. Really!

In that case, I better pamper mine then. As it already winters inside, maybe I'll tuck it up

and give it a little kiss good-night.

Question to fellow Scura R'ers - should owners keep 'em stock or get stuck into any personal

modifications? Are there cries of "Do it", or "Sacriledge"?

Only 18 out of how many V11's? Now that must be what a "niche within a niche" is then.

    Count me in.

I found mine on the Net in France, near LeMans (where, otherwise?????)

The previous owner mounted a nice set of dedicated Mistrals -original exhausts were not included in the sale.

It also has a carbon rear fender (Stucchi, I believe) instead of the black plastic one; but the most relevant modification is the headlight/fairing, which moves V11Sport-style.

Very nice looking indeed...I'll keep it this way, but I'll also go searching for all the missing parts so I have the chance to bring it back to its complete originality in any moment.

It's a gem and I don't think I could improve it -and honestly I don't even wanna try.

PS: so in the end, how many R's can we track?

    1 Ketil Sletten (Norway)

    1 ScuRoo (UK)

    1 Millepercento's owner (Italy)

    1 Brunocortona (AnimaGuzzista forumist-Italy)

    1 Backstreets (Italy)

2 in Czech Republic (any detail?)

11 are missing..... O Brother, Where Art Thou?

  7. Hi,

please rectify, # 301 looks to be in Italy, not France.

Also found today # 227 for sale by dealer Moto Strada (England) on www.ukbike.com

and # 224 for sale by a private owner on the same site (therefore UK)

    (btw: anyone interested here???)

  8. Some members on the http://forum.animaguzzista.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=11634&start=960 say only about 20 was made.

But, what makes it a Scura R, is really nothing more than the combination of black paint, red stickers and some red vinyl.

    And I love it!

According to a very reputable source, the exact number of Scura R produced when Piaggio acquired Moto Guzzi after Aprilia's bankruptcy (and subsequent end of production) is only.........

    only..........

    18.

Pretty hard to open a registry, huh?

Anyway, 2 of them are owned by members of that forum (one is the sincerely yours here....), and another one is in the caring hands of a Guzzi dealer who is also the manufacturer of special bikes with Guzzi heart

  9. Did a search on some auction and classifieds websites in Europe...currently for sale:

    # 069 located in FLIPOU, France

    # 077 located in BORDEAUX, France

    # 200 located in FUSSY, France

    # 301 located in COMO, Italy

    # 555 located in PALERMO, Italy

    # 568 located in PERUGIA, Italy

    I also found this website:

    http://www.motoguzzi-scura.de/dieScuras/dieScuras1-20.html

so # 9, 29, 39 are likely located in Germany.

    # 38 is located in Italy, video on YouTube.

    Hope this can help... ;)
