He is trying to make from Waco to Nashville but seems to be having some fueling problems. The bike is a 2006 Triumph bonnieville. He is try to go super slab and is south of Waco right now. anyone who might be in his path that could give 20 or 30 minutes to help let me know. It has to be something stupid... its a pretty low tech bike.....air,fuel,fire and it should run.....runs for 20 miles then stops...wait 5 min ....start back up and run for 20 miles... anyway thanks in advance andy 615-476-1946 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
nigev11 Posted October 28, 2007 Share Posted October 28, 2007 hey andy im stuck inthe office in Sydney Australia so cant get to Waco any time soon BUT, to me this sounds like a classic fuel tank breather problem. IF its running ok when it does go then it suggests carbs and ignition is ok. So, I woudl guess that there is a fuel tank breather that is blocked; as the vacum gets too high fuel cant get sucked through, stop, pressure rgadually eases, carbs fiill up and away you go. Check for a pinched breather hose or a filler cap that will have a breather hole/vent. Easy way to test is when it starts playing up, crack the seal onthe tank and it should allow free flow again good luck nigev11 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I've heard of several Triumphs doing the same thing. If the tank is lifted off sometimes the breather/vacumn hose becomes disconnected (or forgotten).
