  1. Had a mechanic with older Guzzi experience (late 70's to pre-spine frames) listen to it. He thought the sound was emanating from the valvetrain and being resonated through the air box. Not really anything out of the ordinary, merely amplified due to the inherent design of the V11's intake system. I'll adjust the valves and see how it sounds.
  2. No fiber coming through, just some chipping and scratches. Looking for a type or brand of clear to shoot on it that gives good UV protection and will bond well.
  3. Yeah...thanks. Done that twice. I've done everything involved in a "comprehensive tune up" EXCEPT adjust the valves...because supposedly they had just been done by the PO before I bought it. And it ran so poorly before, I probably couldn't HEAR and valve clatter! Now that the TBs are sync'ed and it's in "tune", I hear every little noise.
  4. What's the best spray or "rattle can" finish for carbon fiber parts?
  5. Si! Only V11 on the list. Thought it was obvious. The more I listen to it, the more I think it's slightly loose valve adjustment. The P.O. lived out East of Escondido and he may have adjusted it on the loose side, given the extreme heat out there in the summer. I've had the exhaust completely apart, so I don't think that's it. Tourqued all of the engine to frame mounting bolts when I had the plastic off the bike.
  6. Valves were adjusted at 6,000 miles. Not quite at 8,000 now. I was told these things have an inherently noisy top end. Is that incorrect? Would it only rattle on acceleration? I just got this thing balanced with the TBs and all, so I didn't really notice the noise before...because it coughed and sputtered so bad!
  7. What's the torque call out on the bolt? I may pull the cover this weekend and inspect it just to set my mind at ease. The more I listen to it, the more it may just be top end (valvetrain) noise. I'm used to my 1200 Sport; this may just be louder and "tinny"-er due to the valve cover design.
  8. Nope, I know pinging when I hear it. It's more of a "jutter"ing sound, like vibration induced. So the rotor is just direct-mounted on to the front of the crankshaft? There's got to be some kind of bushing material or something, no? Also, do they balance the entire alternator (rotor/stator) assembly at the factory?
  9. Getting a pronounced "rattle" under acceleration that appears to be coming from the front of the motor; come off the throttle and it goes away. Is there a replaceable bearing in the alternator rotor that could cause this?
  10. So the Ti silencers are pretty much gutted glasspacks with a lightweight shell?
  11. Just want to thank all the posters on here who shared their invaluable insight regarding sync'ing the throttle bodies and fine tuning the bike. The PO of my V11 had f'ed with every possible setting he could get his fingers on after gooping RTV all over the cracked intake boots didn't make the bike run any better. Man, I now know what you guys mean when you say these things "idle like a purring kitten and pull like a freight train off the line"! A question to throw out there...I know the factory provided a different ECU with the Ti exhaust kit, or had the dealer re-flash the original ECU. I've replaced the Al silencers with the factory carbon fiber units used on the Rosso Mandello and Tenni models. Should I do anything with the ECU?
  12. Need one bar end. One of mine flew off going down the highway! Should've use a little loctite, I guess. Found one! Thanks, Craig!
  13. Not seeing prices on their website. Did you get the fiberglass or the CF? How much was it?
  14. Does anyone know if someone in the States sells these? Does Pete still make them? I heard he was seriously pissed off at some comments over on the WG forum a few years back...
  15. Anyone have something in the garage/basement gathering dust?

    Crossovers?

Anyone have one of the aftermarket crossovers lying around? Prefer Mistral, but will consider a FBF, Stucci or Agostini.
