  2. and yes i noticed the steel band music stops when the lever is pulled in so its a single plate then i guess with the ally flywheel. im learning!
  3. ok scud ill show this to my mechanic asap (its mayday bank holliday here everything closed up) and due to my work ill take a few days to consider many thanks to you,and thanks for all your input from all you helpful guzzi riders, it has cleared a few things up in my brain, and i dont like the idea of a flying apart flywheel
  4. would you think swapping for twin plate is the route i will have to go if i go ahead? he told me they no longer produce the clutch that is in mine if that makes sense
  5. i wouldnt know which flywheel it has, the bike has 18,000 genuine miles, would have thought a bit early for clutch trouble , but my previous steed was a zzr1100, mechanically brilliant, very fast and very boring (compared to the guzzi) but i suspect even a clutch for that would have been a lot less (granted there are economies of scale (size of production runs))
  6. its currently at the guzzi agents shop while research is done and i decide what to do
  7. sounds like a tool box falling down the stairs when in neutral, two dealers have commented on the noise, one being a guzzi agent, and the other my bike mechanic of 30 years (now recovering from a heart attack so wont be working again for a while)
  8. can anyone tell me if the price i have been given for parts alone to replace the clutch in my Guzzi R.M v11 sport is kind of correct, the dealer has said £1,200 for just the parts then there will be substantial labour on top of that !!! i know its a nice italian bike but that sounds absurd , it is heading towards being a large expensive ornament with a cost like that just for a clutch, this cant be right.
  9. Hi im new here , looks good so far , i have uk number 17, dont have the eng or frame number to hand its registered as V11 APW kinda cool plate for it, and its got a almost knackered clutch for which i have been quoted a mind blowing 1200 gbp for just the parts !!! its looking like becoming an expensive ornament unless anyone knows a cheaper source of clutch parts :/
