  2. 01 bought new in 02. Just broke the 15000mi barrier this weekend. Blown ECU--First 100 miles. Tranny spring around 2300mi. Tranny recall performed around 5000mi. Speedo cable transmission around 6000mi Cracked oil return line nut/washer around 9000mi. Fork seal around 12000mi. Looks like it's time for my next oopsie. No long trips although I do have one 600+ mile day under my belt. Ridden hard. Ridden dirty. Not ridden daily.
  3. John, Got your package right on time. Sorry, took so long to say thanks. Had a hectic couple of weeks. It is an amazing collection of parts, no simple task for you to develop. Very pleased with quality of your efforts. Hope to finally install this weekend and give it a real test next week when I head out for the Virginia Guzzi Rally. Matt
  4. I've got an extra tank, tail, and seat cowl from an 01 V11 in grey if you're interested. My opinion is don't paint over the factory paint on that bike. There are too few around. Matt_H 01 V11S I ride dirty.
  5. I have an 01 V11Sport and would like to know if the following parts from an 02 Lemans will retrofit: swingarm and rear shock and the rear end. I'd like to paint the swingarm, rear housing, and shaft red to match the frame. Can pick up the Lemans parts reasonable and thought it might make sense to paint them and then swap the parts out. 6. Might just be the connection not actually the switch. My switch was replaced under warranty, within a week was acting up again. Upon investigation, the connection was loose at the switch. Did a little manupulation and voila. No more problems.
  7. I think it really depends a lot on your dealer. After waiting for warranty parts for 11 months I ordered them from another dealer (EISH ENTERPRISES, 11041 Opal Road N.E. Salineville, OH 43945 330-738-3944) who came highly recommended from other riders on this list. He said he only had one of the things I needed in stock. The rest would take a week to get from MG. Had all my parts in 10 days. Six weeks later my warranty parts arrived at my original dealer. I've never waited longer than two weeks for anything I've ordered from Joe Eish. The $75 it cost me for those parts was well spent. I was riding 6 wks sooner and I was now confident I had found a good source for parts and I decided to keep the V11S. I can sympathise with your frustration. My V11 was in the shop 75 of the first 90 days I owned it. Realize you are going to have to be creative and not rely on your dealer. Tap into the resources online and find alternate ways to get the parts you need. Since my first 12 months of ownwership my bike has been flawless (except for the stuff the dealer who did the tranny recall F***'d up this spring, but that's another story) Good luck and hang in there.
  8. On my 01 V11S the the accuracy of the speedometer varies at different speeds when checked against my gps unit. The worst it's off is 7mph (reads 60mph when really 53mph). Not to bad over 100mph. 106 indicated reads 104 on the gps. Some of the others I remember are 45 is really 43, 70 is 66, 25 is 23, and 50 is 45. No consistant pattern I can discern.
